A Fish Story

So I had this big, long story planned out about how I caught these minnows in a creek back behind my work. I was proud of myself because utilizing a mop handle, a plastic bag, and a bit of wire, I fashioned a pretty shitty, but yet still effective net. I planned to put these small fishes in the pond behind my house in an effort to control mosquitoes.

I caught 17 of the little buggers and kept them at my desk in a vacuum canister until quitting time. They made the ride home through insane traffic without so much as a lost drop of water. I released them into the pond and they schooled together and explored their surroundings, happily swimming around.

After dinner that evening I searched for them, I only saw 5. The next day I searched for them and I found none. I looked around today and still I found none.

Then I saw a two smallish turtles paddling around. Next I saw another turtle (a huge snapping turtle) the size of Gamera (scared the crap out of me) slowly lumber to the surface of the pond. I thought that when I put those minnows in the pond at most they were sharing it with water bugs and tadpoles. Apparently I merely sent them to the slaughter, once again proving I’m just barely smart enough to be dangerous.
