That old Fling feeling...
So my sisters and I went to their first school social....it's amazing how the things never change, except for the colors of the wristbands. And occasionally the locations. There were two live bands, one in a room with all the lights on, and the other outside, in the dark, with a better stage. Guess who had a bigger audience?
Then there was the ubiquitous free pizza, but with the addition of brownies (some actually without walnuts! Yay!) and rootbeer floats. The floats were kind of a problem, because the ice cream was so solid, the poor volunteers couldn't scoop it, so one girl looks at me, and starts scooping the stuff out with her gloved hands. Aww. I told her she was the coolest girl on campus, and she actually appreciated my joke. We're such nerds.
So then we went and sway-stood with everyone else at the top 40s dance, and then I made my sisters be fake-band groupies, just for the experience, and we mocked the body language of the loner guys standing around, and it was good times.
So yeah, that was my Friday.
