Summery: Kyuhyun and Sungmin are best friends. But what happens when they each start seeing other people and their feelings for each other grow deeper? We can't judge things by the way they are seen. We need to learn to look beneathe the surace and see what some of us try to hide. Friendship always gives way to love.
Chapter 6
Sungmin lazily opened his eyes when he heard Kyuhyun’s phone ringing. He looked at Kyuhyun who wasn’t even bothered by the noise his phone was making. “Kyuhyun-ah” Sungmin shook Kyuhyun a little to wake him up.
Kyuhyun didn’t seem to be bothered by Sungmin’s rough shaking, so Sungmin decided to hit him with the pillow. “Ya! Kyuhyun wake up and answer your damn phone.” Kyuhyun groaned and turned around his back facing Sungmin.
The phone stopped ringing so Sungmin left Kyuhyun alone and lay back down and closed his eyes. He was almost fast asleep again when Kyuhyun’s phone stated to ring so he sat up again and threw his pillow to Kyuhyun who completely ignored it.
“Answer your phone!” Sungmin said and pushed Kyuhyun off the bed. He really wasn’t a morning person and worst if he didn’t get at least 9 hours of sleep.
Kyuhyun who was on the floor sat up and rubbed his eyes. “What is it?” he sleepily asked.
“Answer your phone, its been ringing for a while and it doesn’t let me sleep.” Sungmin said and lay back on the bed.
Kyuhyun grabbed his phone and answered it. “Hello?” he asked still half asleep.
‘Get ready.’ Donghae said from the other line.
“Donghae why are you calling so early?” Kyuhyun asked as he climbed back into the bed next to Sungmin.
“Hyukjae is going to meet his ex’s sister for lunch.” Donghae answered.
Kyuhyun didn’t care what was going on with Hyukjae or Donghae at the time, he just wanted to sleep. “And?”
‘We need to follow him and make sure he is safe.”
“Since when do you care if Hyukjae is safe or not? I thought you didn’t get along with him.”
‘I don’t! he just owes me some food and he has to pay me back, then he can go do whatever he wants.’
“Go by yourself then. I’m tired.” Kyuhyun was about to close his phone.
‘I’ll tell Hyung the chocolates are mine!” Kyuhyun shot his eyes open.
“Ok! But I won’t have to pay for the chocolates anymore!”
“Only two boxes of chocolates.” Donghae said and Kyuhyun could imagine Donghae grinning through the phone.
Kyuhyun groaned. “Ok, I’ll be there in 15 minutes.” he said and hanged up.
“Hyung” Kyuhyun called out to Sungmin but Sungmin was already back to sleep. Kyuhyun grinned as he got a thought to get revenge for Sungmin throwing him off the bed. He slowly got up and walked out the room still grinning as he thought what he was going to do.
A few minutes later Kyuhyun came back into the room with a glass filled with iced water, still with the grin on his lips. Slowly he approached Sungmin and stopped beside him. “Sungmin hyung, time to wake up.” Kyuhyun said and poked Sungmin’s cheek.
Sungmin slapped his hand away. “Hyung wake up!” Kyuhyun said a bit louder this time.
“Kyuhyun you better let me sleep or I’ll kick you out!” Sungmin screamed. Really why was Kyuhyun even waking him up so early. Doesn’t he know Sungmin isn’t a morning person.
“You asked for it.” Kyuhyun simply said and let the water of the glass fall slowly down on Sungmin’s face.
Sungmin gasped at the cold feeling and shot up in a sitting position. Kyuhyun still letting the water fall on Sungmin’s head, was laughing so hard. Sungmin cleaned his face and then glared at Kyuhyun.
“You. Are. So. Dead. Cho. Kyuhyun.!” Sungmin said and Kyuhyun smiled at him and took off running.

Hyukjae was on his way to meet up with Kunin at a nearby café. He felt scared when he first left the dorm since he felt like Junsu would be stalking him. As he walked he could feel someone following him, but for some reason he didn’t feel scared. He actually felt safe.
‘How annoying can those two get?’ Hyukjae asked himself.
He felt safe, but those two were making too much noise and getting everyone’s attention. Aren’t they suppose to be like ninjas? But of course they couldn’t possibly be quiet, at least one of them.
The two idiots who were following Hyukjae were trying to hide behind a tree when they saw Hyukjae stop.
“Shh… he’ll hear us!” Donghae said and Kyuhyun smacked him on the head.
“He will hear you talking if you don’t speak lower!”
Donghae pouted and rubbed his head. “But I’m being quiet.” Donghae said.
Hyukjae had enough, he could hear them and he rolled his eyes. “What are you doing?!” Hyukjae asked but got no response from the other two. He turned around and didn’t see them, so he decided to continue walking.
“Told you!” Kyuhyun told Donghae and smacked him again.
“Okay! Stop it with the smacking! Your abusing my poor brain.” Donghae rubbed his head again.
“You have no brain.” Kyuhyun said and was about to start following Hyukjae but Hyukjae was nowhere to be seen.
“Where did he go?” Donghae who also realized asked Kyuhyun.
They walked to where Hyukjae was a few minutes ago. They looked around but didn’t see him anywhere. Hyukjae on the other hand was staring at them from inside the store, he was giggling as he watched the too looking everywhere for him. Can’t they look in the store?
He walked out and stood behind the two idiots who where still looking around. “Looking for someone? I could probably help to look for him.” he said teasingly.
Donghae widen his eyes and looked at Hyukjae. “Umm… Well, we were… um…” Donghae couldn’t come up with anything to say to his fake boyfriend.
“Why are you two idiots following me?!” Hyukjae’s tone was a little frightening to Donghae. ‘Monkey’s look scary when they are mad.’ Donghae thought.
“It was all Donghae’s idea so don’t you dare call me an idiot! I tried to tell him it was a bad idea!” Kyuhyun smacked Donghae’s head for the trillion time that day.
“Ya! Stop it with the smacking!” and again Donghae rubbed his abused head. “And I was worried about you! What if your ex follows you?” Hyukjae’s heart started to beat a little bit faster hearing Donghae say he was worried about him.
“Y-you… were worried about me?”
“Ok your with your monkey now, I’ll be taking my leave.” Kyuhyun said and left the two alone, heading back to the dorm.
“Were you really worried about me?” Hyukjae asked again and his heart was beating even faster by the second.
Donghae turned around to look at something else that wasn’t Hyukjae. “Of course I was. If Junsu took you then who would pay me my meals back. There are still 2 weeks left till I get my allowance.” Donghae said and received a smack on the head from Hyukjae. “Ya! I had enough smacks for the day from Kyuhyun!”
“So you were worried because of your stomach?! Well I’m fine! NOW LEAVE!!” Hyukjae started his way towards the café once more.
Donghae who saw the hurt in Hyukjae’s eyes was feeling guilty and went to catch up with him. When he caught him, he turned him around to face him and received a slap. “What the…”
“Leave me alone already! I need to go meet up with my friend.”
Donghae stopped Hyukjae once again. “I’m sorry I just…”
“Just leave Donghae… we’re just fake remember. Thanks for playing along.” Hyukjae said and ran towards the café.
Donghae still feeling guilty, was also feeling something weird inside and he couldn’t understand the feeling. He decided to keep following Hyukjae just to make sure he will be safe. He saw Hyukjae enter the café and gave Kunin a hug, Donghae didn’t really have money oh him that time so he decided to use the credit card that his brother gave him in case of an emergency and this was an emergency. Donghae had the stinking feeling that Junsu was not far behind his sister.
Meanwhile Hyukjae and Kunin’s table, Hyukjae gave a sigh as they sat down to order some food.
“What’s wrong Hyukjae oppa?” Kunin asked with a smile
“I’m just pissed at Donghae.” Hyukjae said “Damn fishy thinks about nothing but his stomach.”
“What was that Oppa?” Kunin inquired as she handed the menu to him. “This will be my treat for today, It’s my way of saying sorry for not warning you of Junsu oppa.”
“It’s not your fault Kunin ah.” Hyukjae replied smiling warmly at her. Donghae felt something turn inside him as he gave the waiter his order. Hyukjae’s glances to Kunin were very gentle and loving. It was like there was nothing that the two did not share with one another. “Besides it’s my fault for not picking up when you called.”
“Yes, why didn’t you answer my calls?” Kunin stated lifting an eye brow
“I thought it was your brother trying to call me using your phone.” Hyukjae told her honestly. “I just needed to get away from him.”
“You could have told me where you were going you know.” Kunin said “I also worry about you. Your parents didn’t tell me either.”
“Mainhae, Kunin ah.” Hyukjae stated and just starred at her kindly.
Kunin understood why Hyukjae left without telling anyone. Her brother’s possessiveness has always been her brother’s down fall and it came to a point where it suffocated Hyukjae so much.
“What are we gonna do now, Kunin?” Hyukjae questioned her as their food came.
“I honestly don’t know.” Kunin said “We can try calling Yunho oppa and the rest. Maybe they can help.”
“Yeah that will be a great idea.” Hyukjae said “Maybe then I don’t have to leave.”
“So Donghae ssi seems nice.” Kunin said
“Nice my ass, he only thinks of food,” Hyukjae whispered.
“Pardon?” Kunin asked
“Nothing, he is nice.” Hyukjae said with a smile. “But he is just too playful at times.”
“If that’s the case why do you call him fishy?” Kunin asked
“It’s his eyes,” Hyukjae told her “its so round and happy all the time that it reminds me of a fish.”
“But those eyes are beautiful aren’t they?” Kunin inquired and Donghae hearing that comment blushed.
“Yes they are.” Hyukjae replied which made Donghae blushed a little more.
“Oh yes they are.” Junsu said sitting beside his sister. “But tell me Hyukjae ssi, when did you become so impulsive.”
“What do you mean?” Kunin asked her brother.
“Well school started a month and a few weeks ago.” Junsu informed them. “How did you fall in love so quickly?”
“I’m sorry I’m late babe.” Donghae greeted as he gave Hyukjae a kiss on the forehead.
“It’s quite alright, Hun.” Hyukjae said wrapping his arms around Donghae’s waist. Hyukjae had never been so grateful to someone who he was angry at. “Have you eaten? Would you care to join us?”
“Yes, I would love to.” Donghae said sitting down beside Hyukjae and then glared at Junsu. “What was the question you were asking Junsu ssi?”
“I was merely asking how you manage to make Hyukjae fall in love with you in such a short time.” Junsu stated raising his eye brow arrogantly. “What can you possible know about him?”
Donghae who was not afraid to rise to any challenge felt Hyukjae’s hand squeeze his. He smiled reassuringly at Hyukjae.
“In the short time I’ve known him and fell in love with him. I know that he loves strawberries.” Donghae said “and he makes these sweet little noises when he eats them to let the other’s know they’re good.”
“That’s the simplest one.” Junsu said not backing down.
“How about how when he sleeps he loves to cuddle while he sucks the tip of his thumb?” Donghae said. “Or he mumbles things in his sleeps, or blushes when he is kissed in public even when he is drunk?’
“Oppa please don’t make a scene here.” Kunin asked holding on to her brother’s hand which was balled up in a fist. “Let’s go back to the dorm.”
“Go back to the dorm Kunin.” Junsu said standing up. “I need to teach this guy a lesson.”
“Junsu ssi,” Hyukjae said calmly looking Junsu straight in the eyes “What do you intend to do beat up my boyfriend for knowing me? I suggest you think again.”
“Junsu ssi, I thought my boyfriend made it clear to you that he does not want you bothering him.” Donghae said “What are you trying to do? He does not want you have some self respect as a man.”
In a fit of anger Junsu grabbed Donghae’s collar and pulled him up. Donghae allowed himself to be pulled up.
Donghae grabbed Junsu’s wrist and twisted it without hesitations. He looked at him straight in the eye and glared.
“I won’t warn you again Junsu ssi.” Donghae said “Leave my boyfriend alone. Your sister is allowed to see him because they are best friends.”
With that Donghae apologized to Kunin bowing low. He told her to call them anytime when her brother was away. He took Hyukjae by the hand and walked away.

Kyuhyun headed back to the dorms hoping to get some rest beside his Minnie. But when he got to the dorms he saw his best friend working on the café with Leeteuk hyung and Kibum ssi. Sungmin was busy helping his hyung and Kibum with how to tell the workers where things went and failed to notice that Kyuhyun had already come back from where his little brother had taken him. Kyuhyun for his part could not help but smile. Sungmin really loved to work and was completely at home with it. Kyuhyun grabbed a soda and handed it to Sungmin while hugging him from behind. Sungmin pretended to drop the soda in surprise and Kyuhyun picked it up for him.
“Hyung, why are you so jumpy?” Kyuhyun asked
“I’m not jumpy,” Sungmin told him handing him the soda. “I’m just thirsty. Could you please open it for me?”
“Ok Hyung.” Kyuhyun said opening the soda completely for getting that it just fell to the ground.
When Kyuhyun opened the soda can, half of its contents sprouted to Kyuhyun’s face. Sungmin fell on to the ground laughing hard. Kyuhyun pouted and glared at Sungmin.
“What did you do that for?” Kyuhyun asked
“It was pay back for this morning.” Sungmin replied casually “You threw water on me and you left without even saying sorry.”
“You pushed me off the bed!” Kyuhyun defended.
“Your stupid phone woke me up!” Sungmin fought back.
“Your idiotic brother was the one calling!”
Sungmin opened his mouth to fight back but couldn’t think of anything else to say. Instead he grabbed some tissue and handed it to Kyuhyun but the latter didn’t grab it.
“Clean yourself.” Sungmin said but Kyuhyun shook his head. “Why not?”
“You clean me.” Kyuhyun ordered his hyung.
Sungmin rolled his eyes and threw the tissue at Kyuhyun. “I don’t have time to baby you. The café needs to be ready by next weekend.” and walked away leaving a pouting Kyuhyun.

“I was merely asking how you manage to make Hyukjae fall in love with you in such a short time.” Junsu stated raising his eye brow arrogantly. “What can you possible know about him?”
Donghae who was not afraid to rise to any challenge felt Hyukjae’s hand squeeze his. He smiled reassuringly at Hyukjae.
“In the short time I’ve known him and fell in love with him. I know that he loves strawberries.” Donghae said “and he makes these sweet little noises when he eats them to let the other’s know they’re good.”
“That’s the simplest one.” Junsu said not backing down.
“How about how when he sleeps he loves to cuddle while he sucks the tip of his thumb?” Donghae said. “Or he mumbles things in his sleeps, or blushes when he is kissed in public even when he is drunk?’
“Oppa please don’t make a scene here.” Kunin asked holding on to her brother’s hand which was balled up in a fist. “Let’s go back to the dorm.”
“Go back to the dorm Kunin.” Junsu said standing up. “I need to teach this guy a lesson.”
“Junsu ssi,” Hyukjae said calmly looking Junsu straight in the eyes “What do you intend to do beat up my boyfriend for knowing me? I suggest you think again.”
“Junsu ssi, I thought my boyfriend made it clear to you that he does not want you bothering him.” Donghae said “What are you trying to do? He does not want you have some self respect as a man.”
In a fit of anger Junsu grabbed Donghae’s collar and pulled him up. Donghae allowed himself to be pulled up.
Donghae grabbed Junsu’s wrist and twisted it without hesitations. He looked at him straight in the eye and glared.
“I won’t warn you again Junsu ssi.” Donghae said “Leave my boyfriend alone. Your sister is allowed to see him because they are best friends.”
With that Donghae apologized to Kunin bowing low. He told her to call them anytime when her brother was away. He took Hyukjae by the hand and walked away.

Kyuhyun headed back to the dorms hoping to get some rest beside his Minnie. But when he got to the dorms he saw his best friend working on the café with Leeteuk hyung and Kibum ssi. Sungmin was busy helping his hyung and Kibum with how to tell the workers where things went and failed to notice that Kyuhyun had already come back from where his little brother had taken him. Kyuhyun for his part could not help but smile. Sungmin really loved to work and was completely at home with it. Kyuhyun grabbed a soda and handed it to Sungmin while hugging him from behind. Sungmin pretended to drop the soda in surprise and Kyuhyun picked it up for him.
“Hyung, why are you so jumpy?” Kyuhyun asked
“I’m not jumpy,” Sungmin told him handing him the soda. “I’m just thirsty. Could you please open it for me?”
“Ok Hyung.” Kyuhyun said opening the soda completely for getting that it just fell to the ground.
When Kyuhyun opened the soda can, half of its contents sprouted to Kyuhyun’s face. Sungmin fell on to the ground laughing hard. Kyuhyun pouted and glared at Sungmin.
“What did you do that for?” Kyuhyun asked
“It was pay back for this morning.” Sungmin replied casually “You threw water on me and you left without even saying sorry.”
“You pushed me off the bed!” Kyuhyun defended.
“Your stupid phone woke me up!” Sungmin fought back.
“Your idiotic brother was the one calling!”
Sungmin opened his mouth to fight back but couldn’t think of anything else to say. Instead he grabbed some tissue and handed it to Kyuhyun but the latter didn’t grab it.
“Clean yourself.” Sungmin said but Kyuhyun shook his head. “Why not?”
“You clean me.” Kyuhyun ordered his hyung.
Sungmin rolled his eyes and threw the tissue at Kyuhyun. “I don’t have time to baby you. The café needs to be ready by next weekend.” and walked away leaving a pouting Kyuhyun.
