Puzzle Adventure Game for Wii - Review and Prizes Earned

Aug 14, 2009 18:17

I bought the game last month, played it a few times, got bored, and didn't play it again until about a week ago.

I just finished it, and all-in-all, I have to say it was a cute little game.

I don't want to spoil the plot, so I'm skipping that. You only play one puzzle, and it's a version of Othello, but instead of the winner being the individual with the most pieces on the board, it's the person with the most points. The first couple times you play the puzzle are extremely boring and repetitive, but once you get farther into the game, the puzzle gets more fun because it gets more difficult and you can use more strategies. Each time you play the game, you are actually playing a random adversary. You can level up and earn petpets which allow you to use special moves within the puzzle itself. As you get farther into the game, the board changes. There will be objects blocking some of the squares and the squares become smaller and smaller so you have more moves and more spaces to fill. Throughout the game, you unlock the codes which you then type into the puzzle adventure page on the neopets site. Each code will give you a puzzle piece, an average of about 1,100NP and a bonus virtual prize. You earn 10 and are given one (the master code) in your game booklet.

I do have a couple complaints about playing it, though. The "boss" battle at the end. It was way, way too easy. I was all geared up for a difficult battle, and it only took me about two minutes to knock out all of his pieces. I feel really cheated. You didn't even have to complete the final boss to get the last code. You earned it right before you battle him.

The other thing was that it was damn hard to see. The graphics suck. The words were fuzzy and painful and extremely hard to decipher. I would definitely not recommend you play it on a small television.

Overall, it really was a cute game and was fun to play. I love to figure out puzzles, and playing this game was both a challenge at times and a fun way to relax after work.

Plus, I did receive some nifty prizes and a site theme.
