When You’re Gone
Chapter 8
„Yusuke! What are you doing!“ Aiba’s mother quietly scolded her youngest son who stood in front of his brother’s door and eavesdropped, a cheekily smile on his face.

“I want to know what they’re doing! Don’t you think it’s suspicious for just best friends to hide in a room the whole time?” The suddenly appearing pictures of his big brother kissing Sho made him shudder and he pulled a weird face just by thinking about it.

“It’s just normal that they want to spend some time together, before Sho-kun leaves so stop spying on them! I need some help in the kitchen anyways! Come on” Yusuke pursed his lips and cursed quietly while he followed his mother downstairs into the kitchen.

Inside Aiba’s room the curtains were drawn, a dimmed light the only thing that brightened up the small place. Together with Sho the tall boy sat in front of his double bed, Sho leaned against the piece of furniture with Aiba in his arms whom he hugged gently from behind. Sho loved how his boyfriend snuggled himself into his neck and hummed softly, his warm breath tickling against Sho’s skin. They wanted to make the most out of the day since it was the last one they were able to spend together before Sho would leave for England. The older boy’s parents agreed that their son could spend the night over at Aiba’s house and that they would pick him up the next morning to drive him directly to the airport. Aiba wanted to suppress the thought of Sho leaving in a few hours; he wanted to blend out the clock that was ticking, time passing by. He tried to think of something else, he tried to focus just on Sho, but he was firmly convinced that the clock was ticking louder and louder the more he tried to ignored it. So he sat there, watching the clock… the hand of it moving and moving…

“Ma-kun” Sho whispered concerned when he saw how stiff his boyfriend looked at the clock on the wall “You okay? You seem to be distracted.” Aiba smiled sadly before he turned himself to face Sho completely and exhaled deeply.

“I can’t stop thinking about you leaving. All the time I thought that we will somehow figure it out… you being overseas and me staying here in Japan. But… the more I think about it, the more I start to realize that I… that I can’t be apart from you...” Aiba’s doe-like eyes and the sadness that laid in them for almost six months now were once again breaking Sho's heart - he knew exactly how painful the thought of them being not together anymore was. Ever since Sho got accepted to the university in England, he tried to figure out how to keep up his relationship to Aiba… of course they could communicate over the Internet every day, but how long would they be able to keep contact like that? And there was also the problem with the huge time difference…

For the past half year Sho told himself that everything will be okay, but sitting here with Aiba in his arms for the last time in probably a long time, made him realize that he underestimated the situation. The pain in his heart was growing from minute to minute… how would it be when he was in England? He couldn't even bear the pain right now... On the outside Sho kept calm, reserved, but inside his mind was screaming and his heartache spreading through his body.

The sudden softness against his jawline made Sho jump lightly, Aiba’s lips disturbing his worries. The younger boy slowly started to kiss his prominent face, skipping not one single spot of skin. Sho wanted to stop him, stop him from undressing him slowly, stop him from stroking his thighs, stop him from kissing the places that aroused him the most… he knew that the departure would be an even more hurtful torture than it already was if they would sleep together now. But how could he possible say no to Aiba who lustfully stripped off his own shirt, exposing his upper body, the birthmark that Sho loved to touch, the fragile chest that he loved to kiss… He tried not to look into Aiba’s eyes, because he knew that he would lose immediately to the innocent puppy look that captured his heart every time.

“Ma-kun…” he pleaded, almost begging for him to stop, but Aiba just continued kissing and touching his sensitive spots, making Sho being at his boyfriend’s mercy - he just couldn’t resist. The loud jangling of dishes outside Aiba’s room didn’t stop them both from letting go of each other - Aiba’s mother must have left their dinner in front of the room, but food was probably the last thing they thought about now. Sho’s fingers were intertwined with Aiba’s soft hair, their lips connected to each other, the younger boy sitting in his lover’s lap. They both felt how their crotches were growing the more they kissed, the more they rubbed them together; and it didn’t take long until Sho and Aiba freed themselves from the annoying pieces of fabric that were getting tighter and tighter. When both of them were sitting naked on the floor - Aiba still in Sho’s lap - the older boy told his boyfriend to carefully twine his legs around his waist, so that he could lift him up and lay Aiba softly on the fluffy bed.

Every stroke, the feeling of Sho’s lips around Aiba’s member, the wanting groans that both of them constantly moaned felt desperate… it was probably the most passionate and lustful time they’ve spent together, but no one of them could suppress the despair of knowing that they wouldn’t be able to be that close for a long time. When Aiba felt Sho inside him, thrusting in and out as fast as the older boy could, tears were slowly rolling down his cheeks… not because of the pain, but because all the memories and pictures that were safely stored in his mind suddenly appeared in front of his face; remembering the time that they spent together for the last months. He didn’t want to let go of Sho ever again; not now when he got reminded of how sad and lonely he was going to be without his boyfriend. The feeling of Sho coming and pulling out quickly afterwards almost ripped his heart out.

So… that’s it?

Aiba turned himself away from Sho, trying to hide the sadness from his lover. He just couldn’t show him how broken he was right now, he felt so selfish for wanting Sho to stay in Japan… he didn’t want to stand into his boyfriend’s way, but right now he couldn’t look into his face and support his choice of studying thousands of kilometers away from him either.

A sudden sobbing was interrupting Aiba’s thoughts and he slowly turned himself back to Sho who was lying on his back, his right hand covering his eyes. The unsteady breathing and the wet marks on his chubby cheeks made Aiba immediately realize that he was crying.

Never in those past months did Aiba see him crying before… Sho always comforted Aiba who had a tendency to shed tears pretty easily, whereas the older one tried not to cry even when he felt like it.

“Sho-chan…” Aiba put himself up, grabbed Sho’s wrist and slowly pulled his hand away from his face. The red, tear-filled eyes that looked right up to the ceiling were making the younger boy feel miserable; he didn’t want to see his love like that. Quickly Aiba snuggled himself to Sho’s face and kissed his cheek lightly, tears were starting to stream down his own face now - both of them were crying, not holding back their sadness anymore.

“Thank you for always taking care of our son!” Sho’s parents were bowing in front of Aiba’s, expressing their gratitude for how caring and loving they welcomed their son when he spent his time at their home.

“We have to thank you too, you were always so kind to our Masaki and Sho-kun helped him so much at school… thank you very much.”

The two boys were still in Aiba’s room, looking outside the window and watching their parents who were bowing in a nonstopping motion.

When they finally moved away from the window and packed Sho’s last things, they sat down on Aiba’s bed and stared at the clock. It was official - their time together was over for now. Aiba felt how Sho softly grabbed his hand and put something on his wrist; when he looked closely at it he saw a leather bracelet with two initials on it.

“SM?” Aiba laughed lightly and stroked over the bracelet lovingly “People will think that I am a freak or something like that with those two letters” Sho just smiled and caressed his boyfriend’s hair, tucking it behind Aiba’s ear.

“Sho and Masaki” he said, his voice trembling a bit “Even if I am not here for a while, we’ll always be together. In my heart there’ll always be just you, Ma-kun. I love you and that will never change.” When Sho raised his hand to touch the cheek of his boyfriend with his fingers, Aiba saw the same bracelet like he just got on Sho’s wrist - it was exactly the same, the only difference were the initials that said 'MS'. Before tears could swell up again, Aiba captured Sho’s lips and kissed him passionately for the last time, whispering constantly ‘I love you too, Sho-chan’.

After they broke their kiss, Sho slowly stood up, his bag in his right hand and together with Aiba he walked to the stairs where their ways parted. One last time the older boy turned to his boyfriend and waved, his eyes sparkling because of the tears that were forming. When Sho went downstairs and was finally out of sight, Aiba went back to his room and immediately headed to the window to watch how the most precious thing in is life got into the car and took off.

Where do you want to go?
It doesn’t make any sense… to just go away
I hold you tightly; I search for you up north, in the east, down south and out west,
so that I can beg you to stay…
