Supernatural - Point of No Return review

Warning: this entry will naturally contain spoilers

When they reintroduced Adam in this ep I immediately saw them coming with the 'substitute for Dean as vessel' thing. But of course by now I should have known that these writers are everything but predictable. Using him as bait? Yeah sneaky move from Zach one could expect as well. But this ep had so many little pearls. I loved how they showed Zach as a frustrated businessman drinking with other humans. Really showed how low he could sink when he didnt blink when the humans were burned down.

The bits with Cas and Dean and the later making that comment about getting laid? Yeah, I think the writers were aiming for the fangirls there. However Cas had every reason to be royally pissed and kick some sense into him. Now him carving Jimmy's body with that angel's bane? Woah badass and not very healthy for him either, Im afraid, but it really shows how far he'll go to support the brothers despite his words about not having as much faith in Dean as Sam. I think he was just really disappointed with him. But wow Cas has gotten really BAMF in fights especially when compared with the beginning. He doesn't falter or hesitate and his moves are great. Plus, I knew that trenchcoat would come in handy in a fight. I think that last trick with the body carving will take a toll on him. You can see he's struggling to keep fighting, that his powers are faltering.

The fact they took Adam off screen again is understandable because this show is still about Dean and Sam mainly but his addition was interesting for the plot. Since he doesn't serve as Michael's vessel we can assume he's back in Heaven but I have the feeling he's still got an important part in this. That said I hope we get to see John Winchester again.

Oh and one of the high parts? Finally Zachariah is gone! I cheered. I was hoping someone Upstairs would get tired of his crap and throw him two levels down if you know what I mean b ut Dean killing him? Hell yeah. Also, it seems finally the brother's relationship is getting steadier. Dean told Sam some harsh truths the both of them needed to hear and we get a glimpse of hope at the end. Let's see where this brings them.
