Minna, hisashiburi~~

Lately I feel less and less inclined to go outside. I don't know what happened that my tension dropped this low. Maa, gakkou wa ganbaru kedo, tada... Darui yo. Maji de. Hontou ni tsukareru.

Well anyway I tried to distract myself with many things. Lately though, I've been more caught up with seiyuus.

In a way I thought it's a great way to learn Japanese. In another I thought that seiyuu world is really deep that I can't fully enjoy it unless I immerse myself in it. So I started listening to more seiyuu-related stuff instead of just drama CDs, like DGS and Tokyo Encounter and stuff. Thankfully resources are always available at deargirlstories and Hibiki.

Anyway after watching a few events, I realized that not all seiyuus can sing. Which is understandable, considering that they're not singers... they're voice actors. Whenever I watch an event DVD I usually skip through all the live part. I don't usually listen to character songs either.

But recently, my experience with a certain seiyuu *coughonoDcough* made me revise my opinion.

So, with 'can sing' being my definition of 'not terrible' I made a made up list of seiyuus that can sing.

Ono Daisuke

One of OnoD's most famous role is probably Kyon from Haruhi Suzumiya and Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji. He really has that kind of princely voice, but what I love about him is that he always messes around. He's an all natural boke. It doesn't hurt that he looks hot too. Certainly the nickname Handsome really fits him hurr hurr hurr :p

I listened (and watched) his PV 'Delight' and it was the first song I heard from him. At first it was meh, just another cool-ish auto-tuned smash up of neon lights. I loved the beginning, but the passion kind of dies when he started singing in auto-tune. But when the song was over, it kept getting stuck in my head. By now I've probably listened to it on repeat for 20 times. It's so DARN catchy for it's own good!! Especially the chorus. I don't know why I like that song so much.

Okay, maybe it was the bright lights that blinded me. So I watched his other video, Kinmokusei.

It was even better. Granted it didn't get stuck in my head the way Delight did, but he did sound really good. Also, I like him better in Kinmokusei than in the pseudo-kakkoi Delight lol.

After listening to that, I had to revise my opinion that seiyuus can't sing.

Kamiya Hiroshi

Kamiya and OnoD is basically a unit lol. Kamiya-san is the tsukkomi to OnoD's boke. I was curious as to how he sings, so I listened to his song 'For Myself.' The PV is soooo cute <3 LOL I fell in love with his hoodie and asked Volcom where can I get it. I must've spent half a day hunting for that same hoodie.

In the video I think he was cleaning his apartment and preparing food waiting for his lover to come over to have a meal together. Aaww how sweet~ <3

And yeah. I want that hoodie bad.

Oh. We were talking about the voice right? Ummm... nanka... futsu? It's not amazing or anything compared to when he's voice acting. I mean he sings very well. Maybe it's just the song. But like I said the only thing that I got from this video is that hoodie.

Miyano Mamoru

Miyano Mamoru is almost an obvious choice. I mean he didn't played the best of an idol singer school for nothing lol. He sounded really really good I wondered why he didn't just become a full time singer. Then I realize that his role as a seiyuu probably lends to his ability as a singer. I love his voice :3

Ahem.

Well, I got to know Kiyan from Radio Misty Live, and noticed his attire. Then the seiyuu-san mentioned Rock and Gran Rodeo when they described Kiyan so I did a bit snooping around. And WHOA. WHOA. I mean, WHOA.

For me Kiyan has always been more of a singer than a seiyuu. That's my first impression of Kiyan, so it's a bit hard to change. As a singer, you would notice he's more of a J-rock compared to the three others who are more J-pop. I think it suits him and his voice very well.

By the way I loved how he teased Shimono-tan in Radio Misty. やっぱり、こういうタイプはドSだよね。。。
