Gotham City, late Saturday afternoon

Dec 27, 2008 16:19

Gotham had been experiencing a crime wave since Christmas Day. Last night, Batman and Robin brought in the Penguin, who had organized the whole thing.

So today, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson were resting. They needed to be all healed up for tonight's rounds, after all.

"I miss this, Bruce," Dick said.

"What? Getting shot at and punched? Or the limited recovery time?" Bruce joked.

"Making a difference here in Gotham," Dick said. "When I'm away from here, I kind of feel like I'm not doing what I should be doing."

"What are you saying, Dick?" Bruce asked.

"I think I want to come back here to stay," Dick said. "Transfer back to Gotham Prep."

"Is there something wrong with Fandom?" Bruce asked.

Dick knew that Bruce was trying to see if there was any specific impetus for this, but there wasn't. At this point in his life, Dick just didn't feel complete if he was burying Robin the Boy Wonder. He couldn't ignore that part of him, and it didn't feel right to try to do just that in Fandom. But he simply said, "No, not really. It's just not Gotham."

Bruce nodded. "We'll talk about it more tomorrow. Think about it a little more. If you still feel this way, I'll see what strings I can pull to get you back into Gotham Prep."

"Thanks," Dick said.

"Don't thank me yet. The sun's going down. It's time to get to work."

[OOC: I meant to get something to this effect up the other day, but a cold and Christmas interfered. Anyway, yes, Dick will be staying in Gotham. I've had a blast with him, but finally getting enough info on one of the characters I've been dying to play to, well, play him combined with what is unlikely to be enough time to devote to two students next semester means that the Boy Wonder's the odd man out.

He'll send out e-mails to his friends soon to let them know he won't be back. This is just an OOC head's up.]
