Dude, the X-Men III trailer (the one they showed during "24") seriously has me completely excited for the movie to come out. So jazzed.
On the weekend, we celebrated Erica's BDAY at "Dong Il Jang" (Korean BBQ, the really, really good kind.) It's amazing to me how long I've known the her for (uh, try since Kindergarden). I remember when I was a kid, even really young, she'd always make me these killer cool birthday cards. She even made me some after she wasn't going to the same school I was for part of junior high. I also remember her being completely OCD about cleaning her desk off in the 3rd grade. She's still very clean, but not to that extreme, thank goodness. You know, I could write a whole many pages on things I remember of her growing up. Anyway. It's nice to know that there are some people that I can be proud to have known for so long, and to know that they are *truly* good people -- and Erica is definitely one of them. Now we just need to find her some kind of focus for the next few years ;)
On Sat we went to Pasadena for some music - the Bo Dukes (interesting band -- they've got a very Ben Folds sound to them, but the singer's voice is absolutely atrocious) headlined; Rebecca L. Bolam & The Issues (Ed's band. They're pretty good, actually.); Chandelle (this little 3-piece band, where two of them are chicks, and the singer has a pretty neat voice. They're fairly good, definitely a different style from the rest of the bands that night, though -- almost chick-punk, but... not); and Janeen Leah (she was absolutely fantastic, and if she's downloadable, definitely recommend). Pasadena is such a cute little town. Jerm dug the bar because of all the Brit/English/Scottish/Wales/etc. flags and stuff. And there was a dragon that actually spewed spoke as it hung from the ceiling.
I spent sunday doing GS stuff and walking on the beach. Weekends are so lovely. And it's been raining for the past few hours, and I LOVE rain. Love the sound of it hitting everything, as well as the sublime dampness that hangs in the air when the rain is falling all around. I've been in a really good mood the past few weeks, like very good. It's that whole thing about the fact that I *am* happy. I'm not sure what I have to be so happy about, but it's there, and that's totally groovy and fine by me. I want a puppy. I told Rach that if we end up having to move when our lease is up (if they sell the building), then I want to move somewhere where we can have a dog. Yes, big responsibility. But... dogs are SO cute. And I want one.
