(no subject)
So it was a week ago that I left an entry in which, near the end, I said, "and I will once again believe in my favorite song lyric, 'It's sickening how comforting the privacy of the mind can be.'"
That is my favorite song lyric, and has been for quite some time. But it's been difficult for me to reconcile with that lately (as far as it being my favorite), given that my own head has been such difficult locale in which to exist lately. Just earlier today, though, I started to realize why that was: that line is about the privacy of the mind... and you don't get very much privacy if there are other people inside your head, beside yourself. Once I can finally clear my mind, and be alone in there once more, I'll be much happier.
It's that whole 'clearing' thing that's the tough part.
