So it started a while ago as I'm wandering around here in Ikea. The people chattering away next to me wandered off, and I realized I was hearing "World In My Eyes" over the store sound system. why does your time stamp say "11:21 pm" when it isn't even 5pm yet?

Do you really want to know?

Because when you set your timezone on LJ, it's tied to a cookie on that machine, not your login ID. So even though I've set myself in Pacific time on my laptop at home, I've never bothered changing that setting on my Sidekick3. And since that's the device with which I posted while I was in the store, LJ defaulted the timestamp, as it does when it hasn't been specifically set otherwise, to GMT -- which is 7 hours ahead of Pacific right now, thanks to daylight savings time.

And this is why absolut_ven has named me her Minister of 'Splaining Stuff. :-)
