Dear Friendshipfest Writer
Hi! I love friendship fic for this fandom, so I'm sure I'll like whatever you write, but here are some prompts and ideas:
Amanda Grayson & Winona Kirk: This relationship fascinates me because, even though they don't meet in canon, I think they'd have a lot in common. I'd love a fic set during the canon era with them bonding over the crazy stuff their sons get up to, but something set earlier when Kirk and Spock are kids could be a lot of fun too. Feel free to include Sarek and/or George as well. I do ship Kirk/Spock, so if you want to include that in some way that'd be great, but don't feel you have to - pure gen would be just as loved.
James T. Kirk & Spock: I adore their friendship in canon, it's pretty much the heart of the show for me. I'd love fic dealing with the aftermath of pretty much any episode - especially one that involves Kirk and/or Spock suffering physically or mentally. (Which is a lot of them, really.) I'm also a fan of hurt/comfort fic, so anything where one of them gets hurt/ill and the other takes care of them would be great. Feel free to include McCoy and other characters if you want to, but I'd like the focus to be on Kirk and Spock and how important they are to each other.
Montgomery "Scotty" Scott & Nyota Uhura: I've always found it interesting how when Kirk and Spock are away and Scotty is in command Uhura kind of acts like his first officer. Something exploring that relationship (and how they both feel about it) would be great, but I'd also be interested in the two of them bonding over music, or going on shore leave together, or hurt/comfort where one of them is ill/injured and the other takes care of them.
Spock & Nyota Uhura: I like the idea that Spock taught her to play the Vulcan lyre, so anything about that - or more general bonding over music - would be great. I also like the idea of her giving him hints/tips on how to interact with other humans, or anything about Uhura's language skills and the two of them speaking Vulcan to each other. This is one friendship I prefer as a friendship, so I'd prefer no shippy hints/subtext if possible.
Other notes: All of the above are strictly TOS only - I'm not a huge fan of the reboot-verse. Kirk/Spock is my OTP, so if you don't pair them together please don't pair them with anyone else. Other than that I'm pretty flexible when it comes to pairings (het, f/f, m/m all fine - just no threesomes please), so if you want to include any you like in the background go right ahead. I like humour, hurt/comfort, fluff, and generally prefer happy fic, but I'm fine with more angsty stuff if it relates to canon - e.g. Spock comforting Kirk after Gary's/Edith's/Sam's death. And, for the record, if you decide to go the hurt/comfort route I take normal Vulcan body temperature as higher than human.
