Holy balls, Batman! An update!
Hullo all!
So, I still have no internet at home. Right now, I probably won't until early September. That sucks. The FIA Center has free internet, but it requires sitting there bored for 2 hours while some wank overstays his time. I'm at an Internet cafe now, but it was hella expensive for the time (I miss you Game On). I hope to have my Hikari Fiber line set up soon...then the wonderful world of posting will be mine!
I have been so busy since I got to Fukui. It's been forms upon forms of crap, followed by more crap. I am so sick of forms...and paper trails. The Japanese must run off of paper, it's insane! But, from all the forms I now have: a bike, a car (Daihatsu Mira), a cell phone (090-2839-6827...remember the time difference if you call), my bills and such taken out of my bank account automatically, my bank account and some other stuff. It's been hard, but I have this week off, so I'm going to rest and relax and try to hang out with Bruce (my new Scottish buddy), Ryan (from Atlanta), Colby (from LA) and Jillian (from South Africa). We kinda all hang out and go to Bear's American Classic Bar in town. They have cheap karaoke and cheaper beer. It's win, win!
I went to Mikuni beach last night with the Fukui-ken JETs for fireworks. They were simply amazing. I have never seen such wonderful, bright fireworks. I had such a good time. I have a ton of pictures from that night, English Language Summer Camp, Fukui-shi sights, and the Phoenix Matsuri last week. I need to find a place to host pics and videos that I can screen...any ideas?
I miss all you guys a lot. I hope some of you can come visit. For Joey, do JET! If you get placed somewhere like here, you actually need very little Japanese. There are 3rd year JETs who barely speak any, and they only know how to order food or train tickets. You'll do fine!
I will try to return to this cafe when I have the money and time to sit. It's 880 yen for 3 hours, but you can't save hours without being a memeber, which costs a ton. So, I have to kill three hours...or I'm wasting money. Anyways, I'll be in touch. Have a good end of summer!
