Hindu scanz

Scans from the hideously worn-out (wonder why;)) library copy of "the Hindu Vision: Forms of the Formless"... some of the images were just way too cute and/or funny, so I had to scan them.

This is probably the funniest: The Goddess says to Shiva "yo, dig the great wisdoms my different forms bring." Shiva: "OMGWTF?" really, his expression made me laugh out loud... I probably should icon that.

One of my favourite pics of Kali and Shiva ever, sadly only in b/w: She looks so happy and he looks so chilled out.

Chinnamasta is one of the most shocking pieces of Hindu iconography. A pretty radical idea on how certain sacrifices bring about nourishment of the wildest and truest forms of being... chopping your own head off. (Good essay on the forms of the Goddess here.)

Modern pic of Shiva and Parvati found on the net. Not only has Parvati had a boob-job, but it looks like Shiva has done so too...

This one is a favourite, though. Heh-heh-heh. Who's the Mommy? Who's the Mommy?

[ETA: Bonus pic: In the Devi-Mahatmya, The Goddess basically kicks the arse of every demon ever and is the mightiest thing ever. So... Devi (between slurps of nice hot demon-blood): "Heh. Ph33r my 1337 kill-skillz." Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and another god who I don't know the name of: "OMGSQUEE!!1"]
