Killing time

Elo's mom treated us to a day of fun(ish) today. We went to the Fort Worth Museum of science and history to see a movie at the Omni theater and the planetarium. The Omni is a dome-like theater that is pretty cool. We watched Volcanos of the Deep Sea. It was informative and kind of exciting. We had lunch at the Cafe Modern at the Museum of Modern Art. It was tres chic. I'm not much on haute cuisine, but it was good food. The Museum has a shallow lake all around it. After recent events, I don't know how wise it is to have a shallow lake around your expensive museum, but it was nice. Elo had a burger and I had a chicken salad sandwich. We shared a Ultimate Chocolate Sundae, which was really good. Then we came home and I'm almost finished with my new Repairman Jack book. No word yet on going back home, but they're making Beaumont ppl who stayed evacuate again. Mom and Mary are going back to Orange tomorrow to see about Dad and get some mattresses for Uncle Mike's house. I want to see my family. I know Elo will have kittens if I even suggest going down there, and it's really not practical, but I want to be with them. We've been here long enough, I think. A man from our church died at his daughter's house. Frances's dad. I feel so bad for her. It's bad enough to be away from home, her mom isn't doing well and I think her husband is back home working at a plant. God bless them.
