Night of the Hunter

I was a little apprehensive about a 1955 black and white film with the tagline "A sinister crook posing as a preacher pursues two children for the secret they are privy to of the location of a cache of money," but this totally rocked my world when I saw it at the cinema series.

This is one of the creepiest, scariest movies I have ever seen, and there is no blood or gore. It's just chilling the whole way through. I was on such emotional highs and lows the whole time, and there are some shots that are amazing (one underwater one that I will never forget). This movie was waaaaay ahead of its time in 1955. Anyone who is cool and has any taste should go see it. It's a huge allegory of good vs. evil. Religion gets twisted and abused it in, and the singing soundtrack is amazing.
