Gay as Hell

How do you feel about Cyndi Lauper, Erasure, Debbie Harry, The Gossip, Margaret Cho, and the Dresden Dolls? Do you love them? Me, too! And they're going to be touring together this summer. The tour is called True Colors and it's gay as hell.

So went an email from Blakely. Last night, I went to the Gay as Hell tour and got high on life. People watching was unbelievably fun. I made thirty new best friends. I didn't know any Erasure songs, so I felt totally uncool there, but I sang along at the top of my lungs to Cyndi Lauper. She threw giant balloons into the audience for "True Colors" and had all the musicians from the tour come out and sing it together. She did "She Bop" acoustic and I sang about about "he bop, we bop, you bop, they bop" with thousands of other people. Awesome.

Rosie O'Donnell joined the tour after leaving The View. She ranted about Donald Trump and Larry King ("so, they think I'm gay and fat. It has always been my life goal to give a bald man and a reptile a boner, so I'm really torn up.") Margaret Cho hosted the event with exclamations like "don't you just want to fuck both the Dresden Dolls? I don't even care which one I get!" and "I'm not bi, I'm high."

Cyndi put the tour together provide solidarity and a voice for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. She and Rosie both reminded everyone that our voices need to be heard. Today, we all need to remind our senators to support the Matthew Shepard Act. Cyndi reminded everyone that people do count postcards and faxes and phone calls from their constituents, and the most important thing for us to do is speak up.
