found money, even your own, still is found money
Tomorrow is payday, and I still have $50 of last week's pay. w00t! Granted, it was hidden from me, accidentally by me, and I found it today, but, still, to have it and be getting paid tomorrow, is a good thing. I forgot all about it until I was looking for something else, and came across it.
Today, I went out to breakfast with a friend, and sometime during the 2 hours we were gone, my kitchen window was broken. Nothing was stolen, everything is still there, but, the window was broken. Unsure how, by what, or who. Called landlady, no answer. Called landlady's "emergency line", no answer, left 2 voicemails. Paid for the aluminum foil and tape by myself (before I found the money I had hidden), and Alex taped up the window. I slept from 11 am to 9 pm, I was tired. Still tired after I woke up, but, had to get ready to go. She still hadn't called back, come by, or given any other notice that she got my message and would take care of it. Alex had fixed mac and cheese for dinner, and brought me some with some tea, that was sweet of him. I bought a new dry erase calendar (before I found the money that I had hidden), and listed his chores on it by the day. Now he knows which days he's expected to do which chores, and get his allowance back. I told him, if he followed the calendar, without any verbal reminders from me, he'd get it. Now, on my way home from work, I can stop and get cat food (babys are out). Okay, gotta get back to work now.
