Just thought I'd do a quick update...
Tonight was my first lifeguard class. Surprisingly, I really haven't forgotten anything, at least not out of the stuff we went over tonight. The pre-test was pretty easy. You need to retrieve a brick from the bottom of the pool, but it was only 7 feet deep. MUCH easier than Blue Hills which is 12.5. Getting out of the pool was the hardest part. It is pretty difficult because the deck is so high up and you can't touch the bottom of the pool. I hurt my elbow getting out at one point when we were practicing entries. THE elbow. The one I fractured this summer. I hope it's not anything serious, like re-injuring it. That would be BAD. It hurts to touch it and it's a little swelled up. I'll have to see how it is tomorrow. It doesn't hurt to bend it or anything, so I think that's a good sign. But I guess I still shouldn't really put all of my weight on it...? :O/ Blah... Anyway, the people seem nice for the most part. One of the girls is a senior at Berklee, so I don't feel too out of place. :O) I think most of them are in college. It was kind of funny, though. When I first got there, I thought I was gonna be the only girl in the class because there were four guys sitting there and me (it's at MIT). But there were four girls sitting on the other side of the room who are in the class that I didn't see, so it's actually split evenly (one more guy showed up later). When we went to the pool for the pre-test, all the girls sat on one side of the bench and all the guys sat on the other. Kind of funny/weird. lol I was like, "Wow, it's like a middle school dance..."
So things are good as far as that goes.
On a separate (random) note, I have started trying to upgrade to hard drums on Rock Band ...and White Wedding is an exhausting song.
