[This is Aoko we're talking about, so she's nothing if not stubborn. If he doesn't answer, she will continue to call and rail a demand every 10-15 minutes. She's almost regular that way.]
[It's going to take hours Aoko. Hours before someone else in the house finally gets tired of the constant calling and actually walks into his room and insists he answer the phone.
You might notice he picked up, but he's not saying anything.]
[That surprises her a little. He has, after all, always insisted that he is Kaito. And if he isn't now . . . somehow, right now, that makes him all the more dangerous. Kaito lives by a set of internal rules, as confusing at times as those can be. Without that to restrict him . . . who knows what the robot would do?]
He's sitting on the floor in his room, staring at nothing.
Try again later?]

You're there, aren't you?
I know what you did.

I killed them.
[His voice is utterly expressionless.]

You promised.

[still the exact same expressionless tone.]

Then you also know I can't forgive you.

[still nothing. not even a flicker of emotion.]

[it's like a broken record. no change.]

And how could you sit here now and tell me "I know" like it doesn't even matter?

I... I don't. .. . I don't..
[he's stuttering, words catching someplace inside of him and sticking]
I'm...
I... I br--- I killed people.
I'm not human. Remember?
I'm just... defective.
