Reality in brief

Not to start out on a negative foot but, did anyone else hear about that girl who got on an amusement park ride that wound up ripping her fucking feet off?! It happened yesterday or something. All I know is that's some fucked up shit and things like that are why I sometimes don't wanna leave the house. LOL, I know that makes no sense but, there you have it. Anyhoo, Vegas, yes-yes.

They DO have a lot of SLOTS in Las Vegas, a la Beevis and Butthead. I mean, you get off the plane and the first thing you see, right outside your gate, are slot machines. O_O I'm not one for gambling but something tells me LV takes it rather seriously. /sarcasm D picked me up and we giggled the entire time he drove from the airport to Denny's, Denny's to the apartment. The apartment he shares with his ex is love, btw. It's just perfect! But it's totally not cool to settle into your plane seat to hear, "the ground temperature in LV is currently 104 degrees Farenheit". I almost had kittens! So, yeah, apartment is lovely but the location is not. I told D that first night that all the laughing we'd done had already been worth the "price of admission", lol. And things like that are what went right that weekend. The KH/Flyleaf show? Mmm, not so much. *sigh* But I'll get to that later.

D wound up having to work the next day when the original plan was to take me sightseeing; he'd just landed a new job. So I chilled in the house for awhile before calling a cab, to take me to the strip, as the concert wasn't starting 'til ~7pm. Uhh. The wait time is an hour and change, wtf?!?! And it decided to be 107 that day, dry heat or not. The cab finally came, I had to make like a fugitive to escape the gated "community/prison", and wound up shelling out $30 to get to the strip. Oh, the humanity! It was too hot to do much of anything and, yes, I was somewhat lonely and cranky (for reasons I rather not discuss). I checked out a bit of Caeser's then ate a kick ass turkey and cheese crepe at Bellagio before deciding it was time to head on over to Mandalay Bay where the House of Blues was. *HOB can suck my nuts for not allowing cams, lol) Now, I'm over there thinking that all the hotels/casinos are withing walking distance of each other, right? Wrong. Maybe it's walking distance if you're a pack mule, I don't know. *shrug* So I had to get on a taxi line to catch a ride over to the venue. *At this point, the plan was for me to do the show alone and then have D pick me up so we could go to the afterparty together.* Saw Elias, talked to Greg who was falling asleep at the Merch booth, went in. And here's where I realized that Sick Puppies really do kick ass! Their guitarist aka "the female flea" pwns us all.

Rocked out to them and had an awesome time when KH came out and tried to play while the other bands pulled pranks on them, lol. You gotta love the way they celebrate the end of a tour! Jonny got his feet tied together, one of the roadies got tied to a chair and carried onstage, one of the other lead singers came out dressed in a nightie Mat proceeded to strip him of. It was the shit. But the after was a total disaster because my anxiety, which had been in full force since the week before that, wouldn't let me get comfortable no matter what I did. The LV people and being alone didn't help either though, in most situations, I'd have been fine. It just wasn't to be that day. I talked to Dan for like 2 seconds before just going to sit in a corner while these ~40 cougars tried macking to the guys. *facepalm* Is here where I mention that Greg told me the afterparty had been cancelled?!? Yeah. *sigh* But he said they were still gonna go hang there even though they needed to catch 8am flights back to Chicago. So I figured I'd be more relaxed there, you know? But D showed up completely exhausted and not in the mood to go to any bar. Granted, he would've taken me anywhere I wanted but, again, I would've been completely alone and isolated and it wasn't the time or place for me to be okay with that. I was pissed off but, what can you do? There are times when you really are just subject to what's going on around you and I kinda just want to leave it at that. We got mexican and went home.

Now, saturday was a different story altogether. We bummed around the apartment most of the day! Then D's friend, Jenelle, came over and we went booze shopping, lol. Some foodstuff was purchased along the way as well but...more booze, apparently. I bought a sperm shaped nipper bottle filled with some sort of creme liquor that I wasn't able to smuggle on the plane. Really, it was a sperm...from Germany, wtf?! Then we started decorating for D's Alien bday party that was happening Sunday. Inflattable aliens, green lights, tinsel curtains, glowsticks, glow in the dark stars and all. It was choice. Jenelle left but then we got to pick up Larissa aka L-sizzle from the airport! All this to be followed with a positively amusing and amazing dinner at the cozy Mediteranian restaurant. I want that salad again so bad I'm willing to scour NY for it, lol. Home and drunkeness ensued, complete with D forgetting to bake the alien cake and William-fucking-sledd!!! "Hey, Bitches!" >_> We've got pics and videos. Though maybe we shouldn't, lol. But more on all this shit later.

las vegas, friends, concerts/shows, kill hannah
