BAMBOOZLE: PART DEUX!
Okay, so where was I? Oh, yes! The medic area and missing my opportunity to talk to God! I remember now. :-P
So, the boys from HIM clear out and me and Die are still sitting there in a daze, me eating candy in the hopes that the taste of vomit will disappear from the back of my throat. We know that AFI are next and, since we're already next to the "greenroom" aka "green tent!", we weren't in any mood to rush. I didn't care how many hard looks the medic was giving me or how many times the security guard tried to flirt with me while I was indisposed! LOL. This chick who got put back there with us for heat exhaustion called her kids to come over and meet Ville; she got booted to the other medic area for that, lol!
Anyhoo, first came Jade, getting out of the van that had just pulled up. Die was like, "omg, omg, omg. It's Jade, Frenchie, it's Jade." We looked at each other thinking the same thing: Whereever there is Jade, there is Davey aka Baby J(esus). And then, there he was. My heart stopped for the second time in less than a half an hour! He was walking towards us as we were near the green tent and wound up being the same distance away from us that VHV was. It was almost too much to handle! One thing that shocked us was how small they both were, though! Don't get me wrong, Baby J has the physique of a swimmer but, both him and Jade have to only be a handful of inches taller than me. Unless my view of people is skewed with me often feeling/thinking I'm taller than I really am. *shrug* Davey was simply...beautiful. We finally managed to leave the area when they were about to take the stage; the medic lady helped distract me by drawing attention to the sunset of which I have an amazing photo to show for it! The killer about this whole thing? I got to watch both God and Baby J during sunset. How's that for fucking religion? :-P
Me and Die stuck to the very edges of the crowd due to my anxiety and the madness that is people + AFI. They started, of course, with "Miseria Cantare". Goose bumps rose everywhere and I just started screaming. The crowd!!!!! It was like a goddamned cult! I swear that nothing comes close to affecting me like HIM other than AFI. I was slayed! But we didn't stay long past the first 2 songs because we knew it was about to get crazy with everyone trying to leave at once (AFI were one of the very last acts). We bounced and tried to look for a cab like the one of the security guys told us. THERE WERE NONE!!!! Why was it so important that we get a cab now when we didn't take one coming? Hmm, could it do with the fact that it was now night and there was the *dun dun dun* highway to compete with?! Not to mention that everything looks different at night and we couldn't recognize where we came in for the life of us. *facepalm* Yes, we win at life. /sarcasm We eventually found a couple of kids to walk with us since they had to go to the Sheraton anyway and that was not far from our hotel. Plus, the Sheraton had a restaurant and we were starving by this point. Got there high on surviving the highway with little light to guide us and had a nice dinner. Ummm, that's where things got scary.
