So, been a busy few days and therefore haven't been online, which has resulted in a nice fat backlog of pointless friend requests and email messages from myspace bands and weirdos...and a few nice emails telling me that i'm being sent some random promo stuffs to hand out..which is nice.
Ahh backtrack;
9 hours shifts at work from 6am Friday and Saturday absolutely shattered me and I am SO glad I have a day off tomorrow, hurrah! Sleep. (Eventually).
On Saturday after work I went to Brighton clubbing, which was extremely expensive (£10 entry most places, £5 drinks...on average) but I got to see my uni mates and school buddy Claire : ) The Beach club is terrible. I warn you. The last time I went it was fun because it was 90's night and yeah it was as cheesey as fuck but also surprising (nirvana, rage, etc etc...) at least it was all fairly recognisable! Plus I wasn't forcing myself to stay awake.
The 'Pav Tav' was pretty awesome. Cool music, nice atmosphere, layout and size and the drinks were a good price too, esspecially for a Saturday night in Brighton!
Eastbourne (where my coursemate Lindsay lives) is rather 'pleasant', in an old persons seaside town kind of way, we ate Chips and mayo on the beach and stuck a few 2p's in the 2p machines at the arcade...nice hangover cure : ) aye
Then the train journey commensed. I managed to get a pretty fast ride home, finished 'How to be Good' and listened to Sevendust and The Postal Service...amongst others. It seems these bus and train journeys are often the only time I get to sit back, relax and catch up on some productive reading/listening. But I quite enjoy it all really. When i'm not in any real hurry anyway.
Later on, after an hour's nap and copious amounts of Tea, I scavved a lift off Shaffery and headed to my brother's 'gig'/mates birthday party at the Frog on the Front. I got to catch up with a few people, briefly, although I was mostly in a daze and found it hugely difficult to get my words together until around 11pm, by which time most people had left. It was great to finally see Incarcerated perform though, good if you like the metaalll side of life. I took some photos (by request, my designated job for the evening), but they're pretty lame digital shots; bad compositions, naf quality and low resolution...but I did my best given the circumstances and technology, ha. they'll be uploaded to their site as soon as i'm sure.
Now i've decided to begin reading The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson (Fear and Loathing...) which hopefully should amuse me and pass some time on my boring lunch breaks at Morrigoons. I'm quite pleased with the fact that i've fianlly gotten back into reading again, after huge neglect, it was quite shameful really! Studying journalism and all...this will be the fourth book of the summer, not brilliant but better than nothing : )
Other random news that made me happy:
I've lost a stone since I came back form university
I get paid on Friday
Reading fest is 2 weeks away
My birthday is less than a month away
AND
I finish work in exactly a month!
