Haha, my taste in music is inherited from my parents. I grew up listening to all of this stuff, and I'm listening to it more and more now that I'm overseas for a job for the next 8 months.
Oh Appalachia. I was born there, in southern New York. I made my way up the state to a similarly impoverished, isolated area with very much the same culture.
I think they have some of the most incredible, haunting songs I've ever heard. In high school I sang Every Night When the Sun Goes In, and it's one of my favorites. I will definitely look up Jodi Miller's version of House of the Rising Sun, since I;m a massive fan of the original version.
Cool beans, with the revivalist music! I've got a massive love for Americana music, and I can remember last summer standing in the barn listening to an oldtime bluegrass special on the radio. Amazing stuff.
I'll check out your drabble tomorrow! It sounds incredible. I'm eager to see it, but I've got to get to bed for work tomorrow. :/

It's definitely an experience, I'll say for sure. There are some really awesome things and some really dismaying things.
