i am having a musical religious experience right now

i'm listening to pete namlook and klaus schulze's newest release under their "dark side of the moog" series. space ambience and beats done analog-style. the new one is in surround sound.

i've heard albums in surround sound before. i was never too impressed. it always seemed too gimmicky. HAHAHA foolish me for not thinking the geniuses behind this would take it three levels beyond where it has been until now. every corner of the room is alive in sound and filled with detail. i am sooooo fucking impressed.

even better, it's a really good release, music-wise. yeah, the surround aspect is something special, but the writing is great. furthermore, this album was inspired by the movie sunshine, which i have effused about in the past.

i can't remember the last time an album had me smiling and nodding and floored for its first 20 minutes (that's how far in i am). wow.
