head up

It's been a trying month since news of the layoff. I've felt low these last few days. I've submitted my resume to several companies and haven't heard a peep. I need to work on my patience. I've felt depressed and trying to keep my motivation has been extremely difficult. This sore throat keeps lingering but I keep taking zinc in hopes of getting rid of it. I'm sure some people will be leaving The Dispatch soon; just a matter of time. I don't want to be one of the last to go. sure, I'd love the severance but I'd rather just get the hell out. The people from Affinity Express were in our offices off & on all week. It was awkward but I didn't feel too bad. I took down the "outsourcing" and "Indian" related comics that had been put up by the bulletin board. Some people were mad but I would like to be neutral when it comes to everything. Everyone in that office is going through so many emotions; some are bitter, some are forgiving. I guess it depends on which day it is and what time of the month.
Lee has been extremely supportive. He helped me re-vamp my resume and I'm nearly done w/my portfolio. I want an interview dammit! :)
Next weekend begins our Christmas celebration. We are driving down to Hardinsburg, KY (close to Louisville, KY) to be with his family. My mom is driving up to Columbus so she can also go to KY with us. She hasn't met many family member on his side; it will be interesting to say the least! On the 23rd we're driving to WV to be with my mom. I guess my half-bro and his partner and going to NY to see some other family. So it will just be the 3 of us; perfect!
I'm hoping maybe Lee will give me my engagement ring for Christmas. I've been getting antsy not having one : ) I know its not everything but people ask where it is all the time. Just call me traditional!
I guess I should get some real work done. I have some projects that I'm giving for Xmas; time to work on them.
xo bye for now
