So yea, I got laid off today. It came as a half-shock if that makes sense. I have been expecting something since they moved us to "the plant" or what I fondly say "the borg collective". It was inevitable. Sales had been down and the goals were never reached. I'm sure we all made alright money; but outsourcing to India is cheaper (evidently). I am worried about how we're all going to find jobs; all 90 of us! Geesus that's a lot of people w/o jobs that will all be competing against each other. I'm worried about money.. I hope to god something pops up before the severance kicks in. I like knowing there is a severance package but I want to have a steady income. I have this wedding which we're committed to and financing (OURSELVES!). I could so just down a bottle of wine but what good would that do? I'd wake up and be hungover. I wanted out so badly from this job; I just didn't expect to have the rug out from under me. It's like being pushed into a pool of very cold water and you're not quite ready. I'm sure with time things will work out. I am thankful Lee is here beside me, as well as all my friends and family. Lee's income would provide for us if I didn't have an income; the only bad part is the wedding and honeymoon would be on hold. One day at a time. Jasper is on my lap purring away.. Shadow came up the stairs all happy with his tail wagging. This is a new chapter in my life.. a transition.
