So, I'm in the middle of discovering that a guy with whom I used to be great friends has, over the course of the summer, changed so drastically that what I thought was mere arrogance at the beginning of the summer is actually an all-consuming neglect for other people's emotions. And I'm coming to the conclusion that I can't even talk to him, because the way he talks down to me all the time in conversation reminds me of the way he cheats on his girlfriends, takes girls for "test drives" or "30-day trials" (I'm not even joking!), has consolation girlfriends until he finds someone he actually wants to be with, and just generally uses people and treats them like crap. And I've been frustrated and angry with him all semester long so far. I've lectured him. We've fought. And now I've come to the conclusion that I'm just so incredibly disgusted with his behavior that I'd rather just not talk to him at all.
Except, that's hard, because he's my ride to crew in the mornings, because I convinced him to join the team a couple months ago.
ARGH!!!
But today I rode to Crew with Matt, because the guy mentioned previously told me he wasn't going to go. But that guy showed up anyways (and demanded to know why I rode with someone else, whatev). And we rowed all the way from Mopac Bridge to S. Congress Bridge... in singles... and oh my gosh am I sore.
But anyways, the South Congress Bridge in Austin, Texas is the home of the largest bat colony in North America, and people gather along the bridge just previously to dusk in order to watch all the bats take flight, and it's really cool.
So, as we were rowing under the Congress St. Bridge, the guy was behind me, so I could see him. And... some bats shat all over him. It was freaking hilarious. He got Guanoed. And it was so funny, because he's so particular about his appearance, and... I dunno. I felt like it was justified.
Anyways, coach says my form has improved a ton, and I also made the best time today on our piece, so that was cool.
And.... thassall, folks. Talk to yous guys latahz.
