NERD CRAFT!!

for those readers who don't recall the massive quilt project i have untaken for my lover boy, i'm making a huge ass quilt for phil out of his old and beloved t-shirts (and a couple of mine).

i have just completed phases 3 and 4 of this epic process. the first two phases were: measure and cut out squares, sew 10 columns of 14 squares together.

phase 3: iron seams open

my brand new spiffy iron phil picked up for me yesterday (apparently buying me a domestic appliance, letting me cook dinner and doing me a sexual favor completely nullifies even one of my worst work days). isn't she sexy? mmhmm. she even doubles as a garment steamer (and no, the iron was not involved in the aforementioned sexual favor).

on the last leg of phase 3. 135 seams ironed 5 to go. like my nice little make shift ironing station? thanks for the super old metal top table, mom!

and with some great help from jen and ana, i completed phase 4: lay out the columns and make sure you don't have the same colored squares next to each other before you sew them all together. not as easy as one might think. i told you it was fucking huge!!

the end product is going to be awesome. here's a close up shot so you can get a better feel for it's inevitable awesomeness.

we have jay and bob with thundercats joined my green lantern and a swatch from my much loved and deteriorated recipe for hate european tour 1993 shirt and sprinkled with a couple squares from phil's will work for anime shirt.

i can probably complete the project in about 5 more phases ::slump:: but now phil and i should have a blanket large enough that we won't have problems hogging or being deprived of covering in the covering in the night.
