Snowy update ...

Ok, I am tired of snow keeping me from my classes.  I missed Thursday which was no big deal since they were education classes and the teachers had a seminar so they were not holding classes, the seminar was also canceled due to weather, but on Friday I missed Math and my first Edu Media class.  =\  Also started the car Thursday and Friday morning to try to move it out of the driveway, but yesterday it would not start.  Grrr!  I guess I better get this thing winterized as soon as I get my money from school.  Otherwise, my classes seem to be going well for the first week and missing one day.

Ra and I have been watching movies from Netflix and instant Netflix.  We received "Horton Hears a Who," which was a good one, instantly watched "Water Horse," which was also good, and last night we instantly watched "Wall-E" again.  I wish I knew where my cord was to hook up my laptop to the TV.  If I knew, I would not need the Roku player, XBOX 360, or Blu-Ray player.  We used it when we had the DDR pad at the Mills Civic house, but have no idea where it went when we moved especially since the DDR pad stopped working properly, so I doubt it is in that box.  =\  That reminds me, I should setup my brother's DDR in the play room.  =D  We need a TV and some heat in there, first.  Speaking of heat in the play room, maybe that is where some of my tax refund should go...  blown-in insulation.  Anyone try this yourselves?

I am currently listening to Great Big Sea.  I love their maritime music!  A FB Friend became friends with Sean McCann and it made me get out my GBS CDs and load them on iTunes.  =D  We are missing our "Play" CD tho.  I have no idea where it went.  ={  "General Taylor," "The Chemical Worker's Song," and "Hangin' Johnny" are some of my favorites... although I do not think there is a song by them, that I own, that I do not like.  I did go to Sean's site and downloaded this piece from his solo album "Peace Among the Bones."  Pretty good piece... and then listened to and enjoyed the rest of the album. =)  Reminds me that I need to find my Chieftains album.  I have loaded the Christmas CD, "Bells of Dublin."  I love listening to "St. Stephen's Day Murders."  =D

The gal I work for still needs prayers as she is still not well.  Also pray that HR agrees to allow me to make up some hours in the DSM office by doing clerical stuffs. My supervisor would love to have me assist her, but it is up to HR in Pella.  *sigh*  Prayerfully, they will agree to it.   Speaking of jobs, I also pray I pass the test for the Census people.  Test is on Tuesday at 11 am.  I should probably take the practice test, too.

I cannot remember if I mentioned that Ra got tested for Gifted and Talented and she is now in the classes.  She is still getting used to public school rules tho.  She isn't used to having homework... in homeschool she did what was asked and when she thought she was finished she would move on to another subject and do more later.  It isn't like HSers cannot work on anything they want at any time they want.  Unlike, PS where if you forget your homework that is tough.  It is at the school and gets locked up with the building.  =/  She is getting better tho. =)  We also need to learn to practice violin every day.  That is definitely something new for us.  I took piano for one term at DMACC, but rarely practiced.  I think once her Dad comes home they can play/practice together, but that is a ways off, so *I* must remember and remind her daily.

I have been babying this entry for a few hours, doing Facebook, listening to iTunes, checking email, and eating dinner, so I think I am finished for now.  Take care all and please keep us in your prayers!
