Good for you babe! I knew about the knee, but not these insulin shenanigans. Thats messed up!
Good to hear about the counseling, your brain needs an oil change every now and then. Even if one doesn't have issues. (Who are these people I need to meet them.) And besides, aren't you supposed to change your oil after every three months even if you don't use it? Well if that's the case my brain's needed an oil change for the last few years.
As for getting your oil changed, (in other regards) That's J's dept. *RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!*
Finances are awesome! Good to hear. Got my review not that long ago, and if Toronto Council approves it, then I'll get not only my Cost of Living (3.25% Nice) but an additional pay for performance bonus of 3%! So a 6.25% pay bump retroactive to Jan 1. Which as they say, doesn't suck! The whole council approval thing is because I'm non-union. (No solidarity! :P)
Skoolin. Huked on fonix werkd fer me! Cool stuff! If you have skills and a portfolio, there may be werk fer you! (we can talk!)
Heyhey... yeah, the insulin/hormonal imbalances are a fairly new discovery. Well, the PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) was discovered over a decade ago but it's only been in recent years that a lot of research has come out about it and many of the problems it can cause or is linked to. The insulin resistence was discovered in the last year or two and now I'm on Metformin to help sensitize me to the insulin I'm producing.
Another friend has suggested getting my thyroid double-checked, though it was clear on the last set of bloodwork. She explained that sometimes your levels are normal and then sometimes they're out of whack, so you need to get tested a few times. So the next time I get any bloodwork done, I'll just ask them to double check the thyroid again, just to be sure.
But yeah: knees, hormones, insulin, genetics and an eating disorder to boot, makes for a messed up Kelly. At least we're getting to the bottom of things?
As for the counselling, yeah, I needed it. I fought long and hard not to end up in counselling, that I could handle things on my own, and then I figured out: no, I can't. I really needed someone to talk to who didn't know me or the people in my life and who would just let me talk without things getting back to other people. It's helping.
And she's going to help me with the eating disorder. So things are getting sorted one by one.
re: oil changed in other regards... I am so going to smack you for that. :P
re: finances... it's going to help, that's for sure. And congrats on your own situation. Sounds great. :)
