Hmm... realizing that sometimes, loving someone and being loved in return isn't enough to keep you together.

Western Ireland (Doolin, Dingle, or Clifden), coastal Maine, on a lake somewhere.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?
Glorious meal with great friends at one of my favorite restaurants (maybe Cuchi Cuchi)?, the great sweat-and-burn feeling of a good workout, followed by a hot shower, hot cider with cinnamon in the fall, laughing with friends and family, the way a woodstove or campfire feels when it's cold out.

An amazing capacity for self-loathing and self-destruction.
