Getting EXCITED!
About a month away from grad school! You know, four years ago I left Northeastern (about the same time that Mike and I started dating) and I was convinced my entire life would be a full-on suckfest of failure. I stepped off the path! No re-entry!
I met a great professor today (she teaches in the Ph.D. program at UMass Boston in Public Policy--which was one of the programs Professor Hillard told me to apply to), she was asking about my MPH, suggested I apply to the Ph.D. program at UMB when I'm done...we had an awesome talk about achievement and class, and she gave me a big hug when we were done. (Fun coincidence: she edited a book w/ Randy Albeda, who's one of the big voices on poverty--we used her textbook in Poverty in America at USM.)
This weekend is the Sterling Renaissance Faire...and my sister was nice enough to make me Ren garb! I am JAZZED to give it a try. On Sunday, we're heading up to see her debut at the Buffalo Indie Market (sort of a guerrilla craft fair thing).
