Finally, a nice calm day. I've had only one patient today thus far and that was a pretty straight forward case (a cow with hypocalcemia). I've called some prescriptions to farmacy and drow to Raahe in order to put some hare out of it's missery. Some passer by had saw that a car had hit it. I went to the place but didn't find the hare. Probably it had rested for a while and then carried on it's hare bussiness as usual. Or if it's really injured the nature will take care of it. Foxes have kids to feed this time of the year and so do eagles and hawks. And owls. And all the other predators.

The prescriptions can be actually quite difficult. There are some drugs I'm willing to give people without seeing the animal, then there are some I'll give to some people in certain occasions and there are also drugs I absolutely won't give without seeing both the animal and the owner. The thoughest case so far has been the hormone pills to female cats. They are not a sollution, they just put the problem further back. I've declined to give a prescription to some lady whose grandmother had a female cat and who refused to get it sterilized. I feel a bit bad about it now but it's really no good. Those hormones are bad for cats and sterilizing is not so big thing really. It will even be cheaper in a long run.

Then there was this horse owner who wanted some pain killers I've never heard of to her horse because it had laminitis again. She had got same drugs from horse clinic in Oulu. I googled a bit and found out that the drug is really used to laminitis and it's just a normal pain killer, nothing more. I phoned the prescription and now I feel a bit bad about it. I could have also told the owner that I will give her a prescription of pain killers but I'll write it to a drug I know. Well, I think she won't get any harm done with that drug. It's quite harmless.

And then some not-work-related-stuff: I went to Prisma yesterday and bought myself four pairs of Hello Kitty -socks. Yay!

And I watched the last two Doctor Who episodes. The opinions about them has varied a bit (ok, Sys said they were awesome, Sugar didn't like them and lady Chi was a bit dissapointed and thats it). I think they were absolutely brilliant. I loved them. They are clearly the best episodes of this series so far, as Mr. Moffat's episodes have always been.

One of the bestest things in the episodes was that they used the theme music of the Doctor so much. I like it. It really fits for the Doctor being both sad and mystical at the same time.

The other thing I like was that the Doctor was really the central character of the episodes. Most of the episodes are told from the companions point of view (or someone elses) but in this one the Doctor was more in the center. The same thing was in The Girl In The Fireplace. Uncle Moffat has a skill to write stuff so that the Doctor is really the main character and his feelings and thoughts gets more room but he still stays mysterious and keeps his secrets. He reveals enough but not too much. And since I *heart* the Doctor more than any other fictional character (well, maybe not including Sam Gamgee and Batman, Captain Nemo and Spock getting close) I love most the episodes where the Doctor gets the main part.
