lots of random updates that will also be appearing in xanga:

gavroche was incredible in london. he was my favorite character. i will marry him. aaaand brendan hurst has a better voice than the guy playing valjean in london. so go brendan! and cosette couldn't hit the high notes, she made this really pained expression on her face every time she had to. but it was still the best show i've ever seen.

my dad, in a fit of randomosity and hilariosity, took my teddy bear prince albert (yes, my father named my teddy bear prince albert when i was a child, in hopes of making me a bigger egg-head than he is), and cut out these cardboard circles from a paper plate and covered them with tinfoil and put them on my bear's hands. like the monkey with the cymbals from phantom. and then he took the paper plate with the two holes cut out and made it into a phantom mask. and turned on the song masquerade from phantom and danced around. this is why i am the way i am.

as anti-reality TV as i am, i became obsessed with big brother in england. it was british big brother (whee alliteration!) and i actually stayed up until 3 AM one night watching it, because they did live broadcasts every night into the wee hours in addition to the actually summary show. so yeah i watched these people speed date. i feel like i know them.

winston churchill is my hero. see my AIM profile for a quote.

i'm over 500 pages into les mis! and it's really good, except for the random 50 page rambles about the battle of waterloo and how the author is all anti- living in a cloistered convent. i've made a list of books i need to read this summer, 5 for summer reading and then 4 on my own. the list will, of course, grow, until my 9 manageable books will become 25. but thats ok. suggestions for books to add? right now i have:
REQUIRED BOOKS
catcher in the rye (which i've already read, but will re-read)
the bean trees (ewww barbara kingsolver)
the crucible (yayyy for bitter politically allegorical plays comparing mccarthyism to witch-hunting!)
the triangle (about a fire or something)
a separate peace (no idea what to think)

BOOKS ON MY OWN
les mis (almost halfway through)
jane eyre
anna karenina (i'm halfway through that but gave it up for les mis, and i refuse to leave it unfinished)
the book by jon stewart (i forget what it's called)

holy shit quite a long update... au revoir mes petits amis!
