Final Words

I was there when the tsunami hit
(no that's a lie; I was in bed)
I didn't run, nor welcome it
As an answer to my life-long dread
As it approached my wretched lot
On my knees I humbly bent
(I figured it was worth a shot)
To God I pledged life-long assent

I repented for my nasty lies
And quit my vices then and there
I turned my body Mecca-wise
Spoke in tongues and words of prayer
As it hit me, I yelled, "Holy Cow!"
In case I'd got it wrong
For the rest of my short life, I vow
To never touch a bong
