Nightmares?
My little boy woke up at 2 or 3 am depending on when the time actually changed.
He woke up screaming at the top of his lungs. He wasn't scared. He was ANGRY. I tried to calm him down in bed, but he just kept screaming. The same thing over and over again. He wouldn't nurse, so I finally brought him in the living room and tried to distract him with toys. He was still screaming, and batted away every toy I offered him. I tried talking to him firmly and deliberately to see if he was actually still asleep and just needed to wake up and see that all was well, but that did not work either. He was just screaming inconsolably.
Finally, after about five or ten minutes of screaming, he grudgingly started to nurse and fell asleep.
What was my little boy screaming repeatedly at 2am?
"WANT TRACTOR!!!!!"
And I tried giving him every tractor in his toy box and he swatted them all away. And that is a lot of tractors. It kind of freaked me out, I have heard him angry before, but never for so long or so loud.
He is fine this morning. We have been reading books about kitties and playing with tractors of course.
