Finally had my epic trek to the mall today! I walked SIX KILOMETRES altogether! I was going to get up early (ie before noon, haha...) and go so I wouldn't have to walk home in the dark, but that totally didn't happen. Janson had to come and sit on me and purr his brains out before I would get out of bed. Kitty alarm clocks, best kind there is!
I managed to talk the guy at the shoe store into ordering me the cheaper boots and then bought some protective spray so he at least got a bit closer to balancing the return and resale. I needed the spray anyway, so win all around! Half-price boots for me! He also misread my name so the package is being delivered to 'Brittany'. Sigh. I know my name is uncommon, but most people have heard it before. But he apologized, and I didn't really care so whatever. And then I was very bad and promptly spent the money I'd gotten back on the boots at HMV. I SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN THERE. Last time I was there I spotted the original collection of Sherlock Holmes stories on sale for twelve bucks and made myself leave before I could buy it (I have SO MANY BOOKS) but I've been thinking about it ever since so I decided I could have it. And then I saw Carrie Fisher's memoir Wishful Drinking and it was on sale so I couldn't resist that, and then the cheap movie bin was right behind me and I wasn't going to look but I spied STAR TREK MOVIES! I got IV last summer and II the other day, and they had V and VI so I clearly had to get them (EIGHT DOLLARS!). But I'm not going to be able to get III in the same collection unless I order it off Amazon because they discontinued it (WTF PEOPLE IT'S THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK) and apparently they never made The Motionless Picture in the same collection, which is hella weird, and you can't buy it by itself which is hella stupid. LAME. I will have the whole collection someday!!
They were having a crazy sale in one of my favourite stores where everything already on sale was buy one get one half off, so OF COURSE I had to look in there. I got two adorable tops and PURPLE AND BLUE NAIL POLISH for a grand total of thirteen bucks. I WIN. And then I went to see if the messenger bag I had my eye on was any cheaper and it totally was so I bought that too. I actually do need it, my purse won't stay on my shoulder when I wear my winter coat because it's too bulky and I walk everywhere so it's HELLA ANNOYING. And this one is grey plaid! Extra win!
So the moral of the story is DON'T LET ME GO TO THE MALL. Especially not to video/book stores. Gah. Self-restraint flies out the window when it comes to books and cheap movies. Eheheheh.
People bid on my auctions! I'm making Doctor Who cookies and pumpkin curry ravioli to send to people! All for Haiti! THIS PLEASES ME IMMENSELY. I shall bake/cook up a storm this weekend! I'm not sure how the ravioli is going to turn out (it can't be at all runny since it's going in the mail), I shall have to make a test batch. Darn, raviolis for me :DDDDD I shall keep you updated and post the recipe! I also found a recipe for cinnamon bread (and not chicken cinnamon bread as
austere_mauve thought, bahahahaha) that I simply must make. CINNAMON BREAD! DROOL! It shall be a delicious weekend.
