When I went to pick up The Resistance the other day (aka ran flailing to HMV), I was geeking out with one of the employees when I spotted this:
Which is possibly the greatest cover of all time. I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies back in May and absolutely loved it, gory illustrations and all, so clearly I had to pick up this one as well. Sadly, I've never actually read Sense and Sensibility so some of the more subtle jokes/changes are probably lost of me. I did however buy the movie back in May, so I watched it tonight. I forgot how amazingly well done it is! ALAN RICKMAN IS A GOD. ALSO EMMA THOMPSON. I totally wept through a good deal of it, ahahaha. Brandon just loves Marianne SO MUCH and he's ALAN RICKMAN and he reads her sonnets in his SEXY VOICE and has STABBY SIDEBURNS. It is the bestest movie. It also holds the distinction of being one of only two movies where I don't actively hate Hugh Grant's guts (the other of course being 'Love Actually' because DORKY PRIME MINISTER WHO FALLS FOR ADORABLE SECRETARY ZOMG). I kind of want to watch it again. Right now. But I shall content myself with continuing the be-seamonstered version :D
I have also watched a great deal of tv this week. Well, not really, but an awful lot compared to my usual norm of none. To sum up: Project Runway sucked slightly less, Project Runway Australia continues to kick the American version's ass bigtime (ANTHONYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :DDDDDDDDDD), ANTM has been both amusing and pain-inducing as usual (though I honestly think Tyra's starting to lose it, or else the scripted screaming every time she walks into a room is finally going to her head), Supernatural continues to break my heart every damn week (also serious drooling over Castiel, ahahahahaha), and the newest bad CW series 'The Beautiful Life: TBL' (the title of which makes me want to stab my brains out) is really really bad but also highly amusing and has pretty clothes! I now understand people's attachment to Gossip Girl: the clothes! SO PRETTY! We'll see if I end up following it though, since I'm planning on cutting my cable after the Emmys. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Awards shows, baby!
Have also been engrossed with all of the prettiness coming out of New York Fashion Week :D I may post a bunch of pics actually because OMG THE PRETTY. And there are still so many collections left to look at! I was going to have a movie fest tomorrow and actually watch everything currently cluttering my hard drive, but I may get sucked into making a massive fashion post. I have MUCH griping about Project Runway to get out, and MUCH MUCH flaily fangirling over Project Runway Australia. Hmm. We shall see what the morning brings :D
