"They like you very much, but they are not the hell your whales."

Tonight marked the introduction of Cherith to the Star Trek movies. She says she's seen Wrath of Khan before, but considering she missed the crucial detail that Spock died at the end (omgspoilers!!) I don't think it really stuck. So what did we watch? THE VOYAGE HOME. She fell asleep during the boring bits at the beginning (especially boring if you've just had Search for Spock explained to you in about five sentences, most of which contained squee) and I was a bit worried, but once the whole ludicrous whale plot was explained she was totally into it. BEST MOVIE PLOT EVAR DON'T EVEN LIE. She was most impressed. And! She agreed to go see Star Trek with me on Tuesday!!! CANNOT WAIT :D

I have an urge to write a fic about Gillian's friend from the aquarium place being blamed for her disappearance and Gillian finding out about it in the future and being all emo. WTF brain. No plot bunnies for months and this is what you give me? Perhaps I'll give in and maybe it'll make way for moar writings. I miss writing, and I could really use a writing project to give me something semi-purposeful to do. We'll see.

In other squeeful news, I finished Sarah Rees Brennan's (sarahtales, formerly 'mistful' aka Maya the genius of the Harry Potter fanfic world) debut novel today. denorios? You need to read this book. Right now. RIGHT NOW. I must have someone to squee with over it :D I shall make a big squee post at some point for it is made of sheer WIN.

Sadly, I have to go straight to sleep because bloody internship starts up again tomorrow. I'm not exactly dreading it, but I'm sure as hell not looking forward to it. I finished all this already, and if it weren't for the ungracious bastards from my last placement I would have graduated already. I'm still hella bitter, and probably will be for a long time. My coordinator is trying to make this whole thing more of an exercise in rebuilding my utterly shattered confidence than redoing staff relief, which I am immensely grateful for. She's back from vacation on Wednesday, we still have to meet to go over a bunch of crap. Sigh. Oh well, three more weeks and then this hellish year will officially be over. Then I can figure out what the hell to do with my life. Haha.
