Supernatural? Is back and scares the crap out of me. Wibble. denorios, you need to be here to reassure me that creepy feral children aren't going to climb out of my walls to play with/kill me. Hold me.

I have an excellent weekend planned for myself. I'm going to watch terrible movies that I happen to think are awesome and eat pizza and possibly drink champagne if I can haul myself over to the offsale. I went and rented Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, and I'm going to watch them back to back. Followed by Constantine, which I adore even though I know it isn't a think like the original comics and because it's pretty terrible. But Keanu! And Tilda Swinton as an androgynous Gabriel! It's amazing! I also rented an anime movie called Appleseed which I'm quite excited about. And then I'm going to go shopping for exciting things like long underwear. Muahaha, it shall be fabulous.

My first week in the ICU is done tomorrow! Craziness! I can't believe it's been a week already. Three to go! I reeeeeeally really like it, though. It's busy and interesting and I adore nutrition support (call me a freak, but when you get into dietetics you start freaking out over things like tube feeds and ketogenic diets and micronutrient fortification and so on). We got a new case in today with severe frostbite on his feet, left leg, hands and back. Apparently he was found in his unheated garage after he went out to get wood and didn't come back. He had taken off his coat, boots and mitts and was thrashing around in the woodpile. No one can figure out what happened to him, it's bizarre. So the crazy frostbite trauma led to a crazy condition called 'rhabdomyolysis' (which is a truly excellent word) where muscle cells die due to trauma and release their contents into the blood stream, which is mainly potassium and myoglobin, which rise to toxic levels and cause acute renal failure. So really, not at all cool, but from an entirely clinical and impartial point of view, reeeeeeeeeally cool! Ahem.

I slept through my alarm this morning, so I think I'd better go to bed earlier and set the alarm louder. Le sigh. And then it will be Saturday and I can sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Mmm, I'm already excited. <3<3<3
