Haven't you heard of compromisation?

'Cuz I promised cheesy end of the year memes.

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of 2007 (not including memes of course). Post the subject line and first line(s) of it in your journal, and that's your "Year in Review."

January
Subject: Jesus was the ORIGINAL zombie.
So. 2007. The entrance to this new year was spent in fine company with sadrazam, kakodaimon and retinac.

I wonder how much he bitched after they lost out to Liverpool yesterday. Heeheehee.

June
Subject: Goddess of Inept Cookery and other crazy shenanigans
Why, hello you. I have returned triumphant for a glorious three days in which I can sleep all night without insane housekeeping staff members talking for hours at a time in a lovely outdoor voice, cook for one person instead one hundred ninety, worry only about my own food preferences/intolerances and have AIR CONDITIONING.

July
Subject: Gogo lesbian vampirism!
So last night I bought myself some treats for supper, made myself a couple of screwdrivers and proceeded to laugh my fool head off at two episodes of Xena.

August
Subject: YEAH I CAN READ YOU LIKE A BOOK, HARRY POTTER SERIES. ...YOU ALSO HAPPEN TO BE BOOKS, BUT STILL.
It has taken me MANY MANY HOURS, but I changed all my icons.

Ugh. I'm so tired and still sick and want no more of this organising crap and shifting furniture about the house and stressing over lack of roommate and stressing over school and general blah.

October
Subject: TONS OF FUN CUBE- It’s fun! It’s a metal cube! It weighs seventeen metric tons! It does nothing!
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh. Awwww, Peter found a shirt. Damn.

November
Subject: I think I should marry him; Mel says we'd have the sappiest children ever and forbade it. Oh well.
Hehhehheh. I was tagging a whole bunch of my old entries from about three years ago the other night, and some of them are so funny.

December
Subject: December! Finally!
I have been waiting for this day with all the patience of a four year old, but it's finally December! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2007: A Summary
What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
- Spent my birthday without any of my family, lived by myself (though only for four months), lived in a city without any of my family in the same city.

Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
- My resolutions were to "write more, take care of self, find some time management skillz and have a dinner party", and I pretty much failed on all of them, heh. Definitely on the writing, though I did update davidlovesgary with a bunch of stuff I wrote last year. Time management still sucks, definitely didn't do the dinner party, and yeah, didn't really take care of myself either. Sigh.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
- Ha. I have so many new baby cousins that I can't name them all.

Did anyone close to you die?
- My great aunt Nettie died last month, but I didn't know her very well. Nothing else comes to mind, so I don't think so? Kind of sad that I can't remember, heh.

What countries did you visit?
- None. Cry.

What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
- More friends and more time spent outside this house.

What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
- 07.21.07. You know why. :D Also, August 31 for when my melanittt moved away from me :(

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- Surviving school and camp. Honestly, it was a year of survival, and of trying to manage everything so that I came out mostly whole on the other side. Sigh. Who chose the professional college again? Boo to you, Nutrition.

What was your biggest failure?
- Ugh. Probably the accounting group project of failure. Still don't wanna talk about it.

Did you suffer illness or injury?
- Ha. Anyone remember September? Let's just skip over that.

What was the best thing you bought?
- Hehheh. Probably the furry orange Kyo bag I bought at the anime con in Calgary. It is fabulous.

Whose behaviour merited celebration?
- My poor Ashley, for putting up with Lindsay and I all summer and even humouring our Church. And just for being fabulous in general. And my roommate Amanda, for putting up with my neuroses and terrible messy habits, and for loving Janson almost as much as me.

Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
- My bloody province, for voting in a conservative government and generally being lame. And some other people for reasons I don't want to talk about. Sigh.

Where did most of your money go?
- Once again, tuition. But last year of classes! YAY!

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- The seventh Harry Potter book! Christmas! New fandoms! Champions 06/07!

What song will always remind you of 2007?
- The Rockefeller Skank (Fatboy Slim), Ra Ra Rasputin (Boney M), Sexyback (Justin Timberlake), the entirety of Hot Fuss (The Killers), Big Girl [You Are Beautiful] (Mika), and a bunch of others from camp

Compared to this time last year, are you...
happier or sadder? Hard to say, but probably happier? I dunno.
thinner or fatter? A little thinner.
richer or poorer? About the same. Almost tuition time again, sigh.

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Same as usual: hung out with people rather than the internet (as much as I love all you guys), gone out and done things rather than curl up with tv, done work on time so I had more time to go out and do things.

What do you wish you'd done less of?
Stressing, procrastinating, swearing, more stressing.

How will you be spending New Years Eve?
I spent it part in company with a pile of friends that haven't all been in the same place for a looooooooong time, and part with melanittt, marrasia and Spice World. Quality evening, oh yes.

Did you fall in love in 2007?
Yeah, not so much. Unless you count denorios ;)

How many one-night stands?
BILLIONS.

What was your favorite TV program?
A supermassive tie between Supernatural and Heroes. DO NOT MAKE ME CHOOSE. Also immensely enjoyed ANtM, SYTYCD, Dirty Sexy Money, 24, Yugioh and some other random anime. Yay. And totally did not watch the first and last episodes of Tila Tequila. Nope.

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone. Not really. Sometimes it gets mighty close, but that's only the usual CRAWL INTO A HOLE AND DIE, DUBYA kind of thing. I dislike a few people that I didn't last year (or even last month, sigh).

What was the best book you read?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Just reread it for the third time and omg I love it so much. It has its problems and bits that annoy me, but I adore it anyway. So there.

What was your greatest musical discovery?
Uh, probably The Killers. And Mika. And the falling in love all over again with Muse, thank you very much, ontd_muse :D

What did you want and get?
An awesome roommate, the Premiership title (worked hard for that one, I did :P), more awesome flisters.

What was your favourite film of this year?
I didn't see a lot of films this year, which is sad, but I really enjoyed The Queen. I rewatched a lot of movies and simply adored them, especially The Incredibles and Princess Mononoke. Worst film I saw this year hands down goes to Dragonheart II, but it shall always remain dear to me anyway. 'My heart hurts!' 'No, our heart hurts!'

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Ha. It can't qualify as the lamest birthday ever, since my 18th was spent in the car driving home from Prince George, but definitely not my favourite. wittyphantom came over and made me watch most of Yugioh: Capsule Monsters, which was pretty much the worst series spinoff ever (except for Yami plays dressup, yay!), and then I went back to camp and played Scruples with some cool people. Not terribly exciting, but it was okay.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A prof or two that was on our side and realised just how stressful the program is, and that we aren't just a group of whiny students (which we are, in part, but c'mon!).

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Mostly? I didn't care. Had nearly a year of bad hair, ugly tshirts and pyjama pants (but only at camp, heh), but whatever. I'm starting to collect a few more nicer clothes and I have an actual hairstyle now, but I really don't care a whole lot.

What kept you sane?
melanittt and my mum.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
...Becks. Don't judge me!

What political issue stirred you the most?
Still don't wanna talk about it. No politics, plz.

Who did you miss?
melanittt and my mum.

Who were the best new people you met?
denorios (SAMMY 'N DEAN FOREVER!), dragged_up, bottle_of_smoke, and my other new flisters which I can't remember but whom I love all the same DON'T JUDGE ME IT IS LATE :D Also, Lindsay and Ashley, my lovely camp girls who somehow survived the insanity that was camp.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
Don't freak out about things that other more rational people do normally. Like using the telephone. HONESTLY.

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Hear me when I say when I say I believe
Nothing's gonna change, nothing's gonna change destiny
Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly"
- Keep Holding On ~ Avril Lavigne (yes, I just quoted Avril. if you feel you need to take your leave of me, just go right ahead :P)

Basically: definitely not the greatest year, but better than 2006. Mostly. I'm going to wait until I'm a little more awake to write out my resolutions, but basically TAKE CARE OF MYSELF and try to take a few risks. And stop freaking out over stupid little things that really shouldn't cause immense amounts of stress. Like using the phone. Honestly. Also, read books, even if I think I don't have time. Perhaps I'll take up the 50 Books Challenge. Sounds fun to me!

I love, love, LOVE you all. Thank you for putting up with me and loving me back and humouring my ranting on fandom and stupid memes. I shall attempt to keep in better contact, since I know how lovely it is to get comments from people. If anyone uses MSN Messenger, you can catch me at deathbyfruitpunch at hotmail dot com. I don't have AIM installed right now, but I do have an account (wayne4evar, hehheh), so if people use it I shall install away. Massive ineffective internet hugs to you all.

And here's to retaining the Premier League title! Champions 2007/2008 please! Gloooory glooooory Man Uniiiiiiiiiiited!!!!!!!!
