Better.

The week has improved somewhat since Saturday.  Doing practically nothing yesterday excepting knitting, laundry, and watching Escaflowne was some of the best therapy I've had in a while.  (Well.  Other than hanging with Will all Saturday.  And RenFest.)

Because I finished one of my Shuriken socks and took a good look at the calendar, Christmas knitting commenced as of about 10 am yesterday.  Joy.  This was slightly offset by the dummy move of using the needles for the second sock... for one of the Christmas presents. D'oh.  At least this should keep me motivated, right?

Yesterday was Talk Like a Pirate Day.  In honor of this event, the wondrous people behind Ravelry reworked the code so all your forum posts were translated into pirate-speak.  Even the postdated ones.  I laughed until I cried this morning.  (And I saved some of my old posts that had been pirate-ified, so you may see a few at some point.)

I looked over the list of companies that are going to be at the STEM day tomorrow.  Only one is offering BME jobs.  Damn.  I'm wondering if it's even worth it at this point.

Hmm.  What else?  Oh.  Three of the books I got Saturday were "Best of the Year's Fantasy and Horror" anthologies.  They're what I think of as Twinkie reading - good every once in a while, but you can't live on them.  (Twilight falls at the very lowest end of this category.  These are the upper echelon.)  They're for when my brain needs a break.  The fourth book is - get this - a vintage stitch dictionary of Anatolian (read: Turkish) knitting charts.  For $10 US.  Duuuuuuude.  I am gonna go NUTS with this.  (I love small, fiddly colorwork.)

Brian greeted me on the phone this morning with "Hi, Jenni.  I am sick."  Awwwwww.  (You have to have heard Brian's voice and speech patterns to understand how cute this really was.)

Babblebabblebabble.  Imma go knit now.  (Also, I made the best pork chops in my CrockPot the other night.  Season with thyme, ginger, Mrs. Dash's original blend, and cook till it falls apart.  Om nom nom nom.  I want to do beef stew sometime this week.)
