me out loud

Nov 02, 2012 12:20

So I was invited by The Written Remains Writers Guild to read my poem, "All Souls' Day", for their inaugural quarterly podcast, "Write Around Here". I'm super excited to participate in this cool local happening, though it means my little-girl voice is now part of the interwebs for all the world to hear.

Audio-master Justynn Time and Written Remains director J. M. Reinbold jillianrainbird did a great job putting this podcast together. Please do check us out

and, if you're local, check back for future broadcasts and news of Guild events (such as the writer's breakfast club on Saturday!).

My reading begins around minute 7:50. "All Souls' Day" first appeared in Jack-O'-Spec, an anthology by Raven Electric Ink. It was reprinted in Spec-tacular: Fantasy Favorites by Raven Electric Ink and in the 2012 Rhysling Anthology.

If you like listening to my little emo soprano, you can hear me again on November 10th, 2012 when I join the 2nd Saturday Poets, a monthly reading sponsored by the Delaware Literary Connection. I'll be reading my flash fiction, "When She's Ready", which won first place in their 2012 literary contest. This will be my first time attending 2nd Saturday - I cut my performance teeth at the (sadly now defunct) DelaWhere open mic in Newark - but I'm excited to finally meet up with that crew of veteran poets and performers. If you're within shouting distance, please join us! Literature is not just for the page!

i don't have a tag for this yet, death by poetry, writing, local, seasonal
