My fairy-tale inspired poem, "When Brother's Go Wandering Off" is up in this month's Scape, a YA zine of speculative fiction and poetry.
Exciting News! My flash fiction, "When She's Ready", won FIRST PLACE in the prose category of the 2nd Saturday Poet's Writing Competition. I will have the honor of performing this piece live with the other contest winners in November, which will be my second live reading this year. 2nd Saturday Poet's is a monthly literary reading sponsored by The Delaware Literary Connection.
"When She's Ready" first appeared in Flash Fiction Online in October 2010.
As an armchair anthropologist, I have always been especially fascinated with the Celts. In fact I researched Celtic ritual practices as part my my college minor, which is how I came to be inspired to write "Passage", a short story set at the mouth of an Iron Age burial cairn.
I'm thrilled to have found a home for "Passage" in The Alchemy Press Book of Ancient Wonders, which is now available through Amazon.com, Amazon.UK and Barnes and Noble. I just received my contributor's copy and I'm looking forward to reading it. I'll post a more thorough review in the days to come. I hope you'll check it out.
