15,000 words into CRIMSON. Struggling for time to do it and fighting indecision. Have to make some important choices about story structure and order and I can't seem to do it - which in turn makes it hard to write because I don't know if what I'm writing is a first chapter or something halfway through the book. It makes a difference, aye?
Also I'm struggling with the scenes themselves, so though I might turn out a thousand words or more a day I like very few of them.
It's ok for a first draft to suck. I'mma keep at it. It's just this part is not nearly so fun.
But in other news, I've started reading Kitchen Confidential for background research (CRIMSON has a culinary theme running through it). Not even through the first chapter and I'm hooked.
Also, I miss Top Chef.
