what she doesn't know won't kill her?

Apparently Mom had blood-work done on Monday and the doctor's office called her the same day because her potassium levels are critical. She was supposed to take some powdered medicine all week and go back today for another round of blood-work. Hadn't heard anything as of 4:00.

I got the impression that another bad report would mean more drastic intervention - I guess no news is good news... that's the thought I'm going to stick with for now.

I was not happy that she didn't tell me about this Monday. "What were you going to do," she asked. "Worry all week?"

Fair enough.

But did I ever mention how I was the last person to know when she was in a coma with Legionnaires' Disease? Even my aunt and grandmother and cousin came down from New Jersey to visit before I knew. They got to talk to her before she went under. I got to see her on machines.

I don't like it when she keeps things from me.
