Day 23: Something that makes you feel better

comfort food. fancy food. exotic food. talking about food. learning about food. cooking food.

coffee. a glass of wine. sometimes, a smoke (though more often these days smoking makes me feel worse.) a dab of my favorite perfume. a touch of his hand. a cat on my lap. a child in my arms. warm blankets. my bed. a good rest. sleeping in.

laughter. goofy movies. my son’s giggles. my girlfriends. a walk in nature - without fail.
a day with my family (of origin) that doesn’t end badly. a visit to south jersey. a drive in Montchanin. a good book. a session of uninterrupted writing.

a days’ work. a sincere “thank you”. a sincere compliment. a shared look.

performance poetry (though sometimes that can be a kick in the gut). a night to myself. a pagan ritual. looking at the stars. looking at a fire.

yoga. prayer. gods’ touch. anything my son does to surprise me.

chocolate. an orgasm. a beautiful piece of art. a beautiful woman.

the sound of doves cooing. music. a thunderstorm.

life. life makes it better.
