Dear Universe,
If it helps, I've taken my short-term wishes from the clutter of my brain and laid them out nice and neat here under the heading "Things I'd like to manifest":
- I'd like to see a good group of qualified, decent candidates come out of the wood-work in time to run for the open Co-op Board seats in November.
- I'd like to finish writing this bridge by, well, tonight.
- I'd like for my house to be magically clean for our Mommy-and-me Equinox party on Sunday, without me having to wear myself out doing it. House-cleaning equals pain, and I don't want to have another excuse to take a pain pill.
- I'd like to not have any excuses to take a pain pill.
- I'd like for this weekend to be relaxed and fun, and worth the pre-party frenzy of self-doubt.
- I'd like for democrats to remember their civic duty and turn out to the polls in November, I'd like right-wing conservatives to wake up with a healthy dose of tolerance and stop worrying about who marries who and where mosques get built. I'd like governments world-wide to take instantaneous measures to protect our precious resources and wean our dependence on fossil fuels. I'd like the health care racket in this country to clean up its act and start caring for people rather than insurance tycoons. I'd like for the publishing world to realize my brilliance and send me a royalty check big enough to send my son to preschool.
- I'd like for anyone reading this to have a fabulous Fall, with all your wishes manifested. Feel the love.
