Finish this sentence:

"As she hung up the phone, it occured to her..."

***
Managed to get over three hours in yesterday while the boy slept. I'm learning that filling in missing details is much harder than free-writing. The word count is usually much less, but choosing the right words is far more tedious.

Still, I'm gradually filling in all those information gaps so that the story could be read from beginning to end without the reader saying... uh, huh?

Current assessment: i have two small "scenes" to write - perhaps not even full scenes so much as descriptive exposition. There is also another tricky flashback - that one I am putting off until I feel more comfortable with the piece as a whole.

Note: the larger a story gets, the harder it is to edit. 315 pages! After those gaps are finished (at least the two), I can't see anything for it but to start at page 1 again and move forward with another revision, this time focusing on the wordcraft and theme. Which is what I meant to do the begin with, before I realized there was so much I still have to say...

I was hoping for the end of September, but that's not going to happen. Let's say... October?
Sounds good to me.

to the touch, writing, you tell me
